5 Trending Wedding Nail Colors to Rock on Your Big Day

Choosing your wedding nail color can be a fairly daunting task. Check out these trending hues to find your ideal shade.

While many aspects about weddings are timeless, others come and go with the trends of the day. Wedding nail colors, as well as hairstyles and beauty looks, are the biggies in this department. When it comes to bridal hair and makeup, you will likely set up a trial to try out different styles and techniques to figure out what will suit you the best for your big day.

When it comes to your wedding nail color and design, however, it’s less traditional to conduct a trial with a professional. In fact, most brides-to-be just book an appointment at their local salon for the week of their wedding and make a spur-of-the-moment decision on hue. But experts say that it’s best to put some thought into the nail color you choose for your wedding day. “Colors do change from season to season, and fall weddings and summer weddings especially can require different looks,” explains nail artist Linh Trinh who has worked NYFW shows for brands such as Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Phillip Lim, and more. “Regardless of the season, it depends on the personal style of the bride—if she’s trendy she can push it and get some nail art like crystal embellishments, but if she’s more classic, she can play with the new trendy French manicure styles, (V-shaped) or just a traditional French manicure.”

Not sure what color to go with? Here are the wedding nail colors the pros say are totally trending for upcoming nuptials.

Lilac

If you’re getting married in the spring and summer months, a light purple like lilac is a great way to add a pop of color, while still keeping things neutral, according to Tracylee Percival, international nail artist and beauty expert. “Lilac typically has a cool undertone, which is great for light colored skin tones.” For medium to darker skin-toned brides, she recommends choosing a lilac with a warm undertone.

There are plenty of color options out there that add a simple, but stunning bling. “Shimmers have subtle pigments of metallic pigment in them that are great for use on their own or even as an additional coat to your opaque nail color,” says Percival.
