Zola Reviews

Rebecca, on January 25, 2019 at 9:32 AM Posted in Registry 0 30

Has anyone created their Wedding Website and Registry on Zola. Curious how the process is, as I've been reading mixed review (mostly about the registry). Seems like most people have loved it at first, but had some issues with returns and product shipment following the wedding. Just curious, as I need to start this process within the next couple of months.

I love my Zola website and registry, but I haven’t had to deal with any shipping yet.

I love the website. I just linked my amazon and Target registries to the website and didn’t create a Zola registry.

I’m not registering for gifts so I won’t encounter that - but I love the Zola website. I tried making a website with The Knot and it is just not user friendly at all. Zola was much easier and I was able to customize it more to my liking.

I was also hesitant about using Zola for the registry but I really loved their website layout. Like Laurel, I linked my Macy's and Bed Bath & Beyond registries to my website and have experienced zero issues. I would definitely recommend the Zola website!

I have loved using Zola so far and have done the same thing as PPs and linked my registries. I love the “group gifting” and cash fund options. I absolutely LOVE the website portion and it was all super simple to use

I’m using Zola and I’ve had no issues. I linked our Amazon, Target, and Bed Bath Beyond websites to our Zola registry page.

I would not recommend Zola. Things seemed ok while using Zola at first. Most things were pretty easy to use. However I’ll admit I work in IT so I may not be the best judge. Things changed for me though when we received our invitations and the addressed envelopes were messed up and only had the males names on the invitations (no wives or girlfriends or plus ones) we reach out to support thinking it wasn’t a huge deal and they would help fix the problem. They confirmed that we had filled out the excel sheet for the addresses 100% correctly but said the best they could do to fix their mistake was give us 50% off our next order. They would not send us fixed envelopes unless we paid for them. Makes no sense to me. If I pay for something and a vendor sends it to me with a mistake they made I would’ve hoped they wouldn’t make me pay for the same thing again. They also wouldn’t let us return our order. So basically I wasted a lot of money with them because I still had to go pay another vendor for new envelopes. Such bad customer service.

We used Zola to track RSVPs and they sent spam to everyone on our guest list telling them to buy us gifts. It was so embarrassing!! Definitely not worth it given how aggressive they are. Also everything on their registry has a 20% markup over what you'll find for the same price elsewhere. I didn't mind because we just linked to other places, but this email spam is SUCH a breach of trust.

I ordered invitations on Zola, wanted to ship them quickly, but asked and it wasn't available. Now I looked up the estimated delivery date and it is TWO WEEKS after I ordered them. If I had known this I would have gone with someone else. Sheesh!

I have been invited to 2 weddings in Sept which are using Zola. From my perspective this site stinks! Difficult to find the weddings and I can't succeed at submitting an RSVP. These Zola people are idiots.

Personally, we didn't use Zola for our registry. Another couple we are friends did. I tried yesterday to purchase items for their shower, and their price matching policy is trash.

You have to email zola about the items you want to price match with the link to the competitor. Then you have to purchase the items through zola. Then you have to email them again. And they may or may not refund you the difference.

I opted to just buy the items from amazon and let the couple sort it out.

It made me thankful we setup an amazon registry for ours.

My fiancé has spent a whole day trying to assemble our invites and order. The number of times that she has has to start from scratch is unbelievable. Now that we have launched I just hope that they are more stabile. From the reviews I just read I am a bit concerned. I am really glad we aren't doing a registry after reading about all the misleading and dysfunctional claims about pricing......

The day of everything being in the males name is over. It is rude and insulting. I was invited to a wedding , ,it is my relative and RSVP is under husband's name. I'm referred to as. Guest. Isn't it time that people got their heads out of their butts

Just spent $100 on "Save the Dates" and they put the words "Save the Date" completely off the the left side. Thinking it was our mistake, we checked the draft PDF and everything is centered but when we try to order them it moves it to the far left side and off centers our names. It's been nightmare and two weeks for shipping is ridiculous. I would go somewhere else before investing all of your time and energy in Zola.

    More problems:

RSVPs had to specify the name of a guest THAT WAS NOT COMING to be able to RSVP. Really.

I ordered Thank You notes from Zola because they already had my addresses. They cut off some text, as some others have mentioned. Also, the default names were bad, so I had to fix them all. Missed a couple. Arrrgh.

I mentioned these problems to Zola and they seemed not to understand or not to care. Wow.

We used it and had no issues! I loved getting to control when gifts arrived at the house! Also the cash fund option was nice too.

If anyone wants $50 on Zola , I can send you a referral code. You have to choose their registry to get the $50.

We used Zola and it was a horrible experience. If you don’t mind having a company make money off you while at the same time sending rude, inaccurate, unrelated and outdated pre-written emails then they are fine. Otherwise all they do is add stress to a wonderful time in hour life. If you ever happen to deal will a real person they are extremely rude and impersonal....odd for a company in the wedding business

    Zola is a terrible company.

They sell you things before they have them in stock. If they aren't able to stock and ship them by the time they promised, they will email you a ship date change.

These emails will happen multiple times per week, and you will never actually get the product you ordered.

They know this happens, and have made order cancellations and refunds automatic.

Their entire business is based on them hoping that they can minimize the number of refunds they get without providing any customer service.

Their CEO, Shan-Lyn Ma, hides behind the internet while she knows that her chosen business practice is disgusting.

Run away from this company as fast as you can.

Withjoy.com has most all the features of Zola (registry info is independent and doesn't take a cut) but I have never found a negative review, unlike other companies.
