Zola registry

Amanda , on June 24, 2019 at 3:19 PM Posted in Registry 0 8
I received an email from Zola today, informing me that a gift has been purchased! The email gives me the option to receive my gift now or at a later date, does anyone know what protocol is for this? My shower is in August and wedding is in October, I’m assuming this is a shower present because invites just went out for it.

It’s totally up to you, there isn’t any protocol and the guest won’t know when you chose to receive the gift. If it were me I’d have it shipped now and send a thank you note when you receive it. The only reason I’d delay it is if I didn’t have space to store it.

If it’s an item you really want choose send now because if they run out of that item before you decide to have it sent to you you’ll have to use those funds to get something else.

We've chosen to have Zola send almost all of the gifts we received through it right away, and send thank you cards when we get them. However, there was one gift we are delaying but I still wrote a thank you note as if we'd received it.

I did Zola for honeymoon fund and I haven't yet transferred the funds but it's nice you can do it when you want

I would get it sent right away so you can write a thank you card sooner letting them know you received it.

Agree with PP's. I would get it now so you can write a thank you note. I know if i sent a gift early and didn't get a TY soon after I would probably be a little worried you didn't actually get it!

I’ve only gotten one Zola gift so far but I had it sent and when it came I sent the thank you note with a pic. She appreciated it. I think it’s best to not have packages pending just in case something happens and not leave them wondering as well.

To go against the common advice, we decided to space out our shipments. My shower is this weekend so there are some gifts on our registry not from Zola that ship automatically cause they are from an external site. We decided to space out the Zola gifts to make sure everything wasn’t coming at once. The big reason is because the gifts are getting shipped to my in-laws who have a doorman because we have had issues with stolen packages at our house. We didn’t want to overwhelm them with packages.
