Youngberg Hill 2020

Melinda, on May 11, 2020 at 6:53 PM Posted in Oregon Planning 0 2

Anyone else planning a wedding at Youngberg Hill this summer? How is that working out for you with Covid-19? My fiance and I are getting a bit of a run from the owner about potentially postponing. Just wondering if other couples have had any luck or any solutions to offer.

Hi Melinda! It's definitely tough right now as each situation is so different for each couple and their wedding vendors!

What does your original contract with your venue say about postponing? And where did you leave the conversation with them right now?

WeddingWire has started gathering expert tips and initial resources in our 💙, and I've seen a lot of July couples sharing their concerns and updates in these discussions:

Hi Lynnie,Thank you for the advice. I have been reading through a bunch of other couple’s difficulties with venues and services and it seems that it is very hit or miss. I did find helpful advice about contacting the better business bureau and found that 2 parties already registered complaints about Youngberg Hill for “failure to deliver goods, services, or refund despite demand by the complainant.”But both were voluntarily resolved/ consumer pursuing own resolution. The contract officially says “ Cancellation or Postponement: Deposits are nonrefundable. Cancellations are final. We can reschedule any time before 7 months of the wedding date to another available date within the same calendar year for the same size wedding.” I am currently have a friend of a friend who is a lawyer looking everything over, but I will most likely being taking the same route as the above couples and filing a formal complaint consumer protection bureau of the Oregon DOJ
