Young Bride looking for tips!

Olivia, on January 5, 2022 at 5:36 PM Posted in New Hampshire Planning 0 1
Hello! I’m a Sophomore in college and I’m going to get married half way through my senior year over the winter break. We would push it back, because we don’t want people to think we’re rushing, but we really love each other, we’ve been dating for a year, the wedding is two years away, and he is going to grad school in Europe in the fall after I graduate. We want to go together. All of this being said, I’m worried about being able to afford the wedding. He has told me many times that as long as we end up married, it will be perfect regardless, but I just can’t help wanting it to be nice, you know? It’s an important day. I’m not looking for anything fancy. We’re hoping to get married at LaPiece in Tilton, NH. They have a great wedding package for any price point, but beyond that, every thing costs so much money! Transportation, rehearsal dinners, wedding favors, bridal showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties. How can we come up with some money? Or, how can we make it all affordable? Are there things we can get away with skipping? Any suggestions would be appreciated! God bless!

Hi Olivia!! The biggest factors in the cost of your wedding will be when you get married (what month, day of the week, and time of day) and how big your guest list is! Each additional wedding guest multiples your costs, so the smaller your invite list the better. The other big way to save money is to get married at an "off-peak" time - like having a weekday wedding or hosting an afternoon wedding reception with light food & drinks instead of a full meal.
