Yellowstone Honeymoon

Alina, on October 23, 2019 at 4:12 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4

Hi Smiley smile

My FH and I are from Florida, we are thinking of going out West for our Honeymoon. We both have Yellowstone on our Bucket list! Our wedding is in Jan 2021! btw we both love the snow Smiley smile

Any advice for the time of year? Or the park and what to see and where to stay?

Thank You

My family and I went to Yellowstone in July one year. It was between 40-60 degrees and being from SC, anything below 50 is super cold to me Smiley xd. It was really beautiful though. My favorite parts were Old Faithful (there's a schedule for when it's supposed to go off so you can make sure to see it) and the Rainbow Pools. It's also insane how close the buffalo get to your cars when you're driving through, we literally had one sitting right by the road just looking at us!

Because of the July temperatures and how much I hate the cold, I'd rather go in the summer. But if you and your FH love the cold and the snow, I'd take full advantage of going in the winter!

I love Yellowstone! It will definitely be cold, but that might be a welcome change from Florida haha.

if you can, I would recommend making a day trip a little south to the Grand Tetons. I went horseback riding there once and to this day it’s the single most beautiful place I’ve ever seen—think of the opening scene of The Sound of Music. It’s genuinely awe-inspiring.

It is gorgeous and very much worth seeing. However, I would definitely do research regarding the historical weather in January. I don't think you'll just have some pretty snow; you could well have frigid conditions, impassable roads, and very limited open accommodations & services. We did a driving trip from So Cal, leaving in mid-May. Yellowstone was gorgeous then (and you'll need to book in-park accommodations far in advance), but a quick Google search will tell you what to expect in the Winter.
