Wrist Corsage

Bryána, on March 8, 2024 at 5:30 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Hello! I plan on doing a few DIYs for our wedding. One of those DIYs are wrist corsages for my mom and his mom. I'll be using artificial flowers for this but what I'm trying to figure out is what is the best way to attach the corsage to the wrist. Would it be better to tie the corsage with ribbon, use a slap bracelet or a c shape bracelet?

I think the size might be more dependent on the wearer. Someone with a larger wrist may require more stability & a ribbon that ties would be best. However, someone with a smaller wrist could utilize the slap bracelet without issue. Recently, I was at the Dollar store & saw the same brand ribbon in various widths & colors, as I saw at Michael's. If you weren't sure about wrist size, I'd opt for ribbon because it's much easier to make a one size fits all corsage. I love the wrist corsage idea!

Thank you so much Amber. This helped me a lot. It make more since to go with ribbon and I think it’ll look cuter too ☺️

Speaking as someone who has worn a wrist corsage to weddings in the past, ribbons do not stay tied at all, short of securing them with super glue. They will struggling with them all night before finally tossing them aside. Ask a local grocery store florist what they use or they can make them for you without the labor involved on your part at a lower price for you. Some use elastic bands (think similar to a scrunchie but doesn’t cut off circulation). A slap bracelet doesn’t seem practical and a C shape bracelet may not fit all sizes of wrists (or be available in multiple sizes)

A scrunchie is a perfect idea! I love that. I think I'll go with that. Thank you so much Michelle.

Most places use elastic bands to secure them. You can buy pretty elastic (sometimes even lacy elastic) at any fabric store. It will stretch to fit most wrists as long as you don't cut it too small.

I bought a stretchy beaded bracelet.

This was for my first wedding, 9 years ago, so I don't have any good photos readily, sorry! I believe I bought it at a craft store but I can't remember for certain. It's another option though, if you want to try searching for something similar! It worked well and was easy to attach the (faux) flower to. They have a pearl look to them, but they were plastic beads, so it was cheap.
