Would you wait 2 years for postponement?

Belle, on September 2, 2020 at 5:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
We eloped due to pregnancy 23 years ago. Dh finally bought a ring in 2019 and proposed. We originally planed to renew our vows last July. However, covid happens. We did photoshoot and cake cutting, making our date to a “save the date” day.

Observing the situation, covid won’t be gone any time soon. So, now I just wonder. Should we just do it in 2022? That year would be our Silver Anniversary (25 years of marriage). Somehow it is “special”.
I only worried not to have the excitement and dh never talked about the wedding since last July 😔 I am so worried that he doesn’t care anymore.

25 years anniversary of marriage would be such a special one for a vow renewal or marriage celebration!

I feel like having it on you 25 year anniversary will just give it so much love and energy, and it might even make DH excited. So if you're wanting to wait for that, I say go for it! Smiley smile

I definitely think waiting for your 25th would be great! Sometimes men just don’t get as excited about these things like us

I think your 25th anniversary would be an awesome time to postpone to! How special!! That combined with COVID uncertainty, it seems like 2022 would make sense for you. My fiance and I also postponed our July 2020 wedding to July 2022, since we're not sure where things would be with COVID next year.

If you don't think your husband cares about the renewal any more, then I would definitely plan it for when YOU want it (assuming he wants to still participate as far as helping to pay for it and attend). 25 years does seem like a very appropriate milestone for a vow renewal and celebration. But you could probably use something to celebrate in 2021, too (I mean, we ALL could!). Either way, you have plenty of time, so I would sit on this a while and then go with your gut.

Thank you, everyone! ❤️ I think it’s a clear result. 2022 it is, unless dh wants it sooner. I hope no one except our little one change their size 😂
