Would you get married on your birthday? Yea or nay?

Maggie, on March 15, 2019 at 10:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 52

Birthdays happen every year, but weddings come much more rarely! Would you double-up on your celebrations and get married on your birthday? Why or why not?

Are any of your guests celebrating their bday on your wedding day?

Absolutely not. We went to a wedding last year that was on the bride's birthday and I would have HATED that if I were her.

It’s a no for me! My birthday and FH’s birthday are already only 3 days apart, so we have plenty going on when birthdays come around to not add one more thing to the mix!

Oh man, adding a wedding to that mix would make for quite the tiring week.

H-E-double hockey 🏒 sticks no!!! I’ve seen couples soooo in love and then eventually divorce. I have every intention of staying forever with my partner, but only the universe knows what will happen. I wouldn’t want my birthday to be a reminder of possible heartbreak. Besides I love being catered to on my birthday 🎁

I probably wouldn't get married on my birthday, but we did get married on the best mans birthday!

I didn't even know it was his birthday until he joked about it a few months before the wedding, my husband never told me! We got married on our anniversary, and the best man made jokes that we threw him the biggest birthday party ever in his speech at dinner!

We also had the DJ play happy birthday as a joke, and we dedicated it to the best man (and also my grandma who turned 80 a few days before the wedding).

We're getting married two days after our anniversary and three days before my birthday. I wouldn't get married ON my birthday. I actually said no to the weekends where our family members had birthdays as well.

A friend of mine got married on her birthday, which was also her husbands birthday. So, they celebrate three things on one day.

Im not big on my birthday so I personally would not mind. We are acutally getting married a weekend before my birthday and had talked about doing it on the day of. But decided against it becasue I have always had bad weather on my birthday and I did not want to risk it.

I wouldn't get married on my birthday. I love having multiple things to celebrate throughout the year! But it will be my uncle's 50th birthday on our wedding day!

I was engaged on my 30th birthday and my dinner sort of became a celebration for both. I would not want to get married on my birthday, I felt bad our wedding is exactly a month before my fiance's 30th birthday since we may not be able to travel again after taking 2 weeks off for the honeymoon.

We're getting married on my FHs birthday! My birthday is a week and a half later.
