OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG ....... The venue coordinator that took our deposit and signed the contract for our wedding event NEVER PUT IT ON THE CALENDAR!!!
I booked our venue last year for our 2023 wedding. I sent an email last week just checking in and to ask a few questions..... and I received an email back yesterday from a woman who said "Christine" was no longer in their employ and to call them asap.
I am heartbroken. I can not believe this happened. My FH and I went up to bring all our paperwork, cancelled check, etc. "Tammy" was very sympathetic and unfortunately also new to the venue (3 months) and told us she inherited a disaster. What is making this so unbelievable is that the venue is going under major renovations starting in January, so even if they COULD do our wedding, who knows what stage construction they will be in next May? Besides all this, Tammy indicated that the venue does not guarantee the food pricing. WHAT?? Isn't that what a contract is for?? WHO in their right mind would book an event not knowing what the final cost would be?
I am now running around scrambling to find a place that is as nice as where we were going to be at the price point we had locked in. I am beyond angry.
Thanks for the shoulder to cry on. Hoping we can be successful .... bless my FH trying to lighten the mood "Well, Chuckee Cheese is always fun".
