Hi All
Just looking for some advice regarding a witness for our city hall wedding in may 23. Do we need to know our witness prior as it asks their name and ID on the liscence form. We were hoping we could find someone once in NY.
Read alot of conflicting information online so hoping for someone who has done it recently

This site (https://www.usmarriagelaws.com/marriage-license/ny-new-york/) just lists the following:
Marriage Witnesses New York:

One person must witness your signature and they must be at least 18 years old.
You could probably call the city clerk for confirmation of what is needed.
