Winter brides - how to stay warm?! pics please!

Megan, on September 11, 2019 at 5:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 11

Hi winter brides, I'm wondering what you wore or are planning on wearing for your winter/cold season wedding to stay warm during pictures? I'd love to see actual pictures! I'm having a hard time figuring out if a nice coat makes sense or if I should do a wrap or what with my ballgown (not huge! but more than an a-line)...
I'd love to see how those winter items balanced with your dresses! Please show me pictures!
I'm getting married at the end of December and we have a jewel-tone themed wedding. I'm thinking something like this

I am legit considering the cape look...🤣 I have also looked at shawls. The wedding will be mainly inside with some outside pictures. I love That jacket! Super cute.

This is my coat, a beautiful cranberry color. I think the peplum shape would look adorable with a puffy dress. I got it at Venus.com

I got married in Sonoma in December so it was not super cold but chilly enough to wear a wrap or jacket outside. I bought a vintage stole on Etsy and wore that outside and bought my bridal wraps faux fur wraps.

    Love the coat!

I'm wearing a shawl to keep warm if needed. A friend of mine wore a stole for her December wedding last year (cropped her face for anonymity).

Love the stole. I’m considering purchasing a vintage stole on Etsy for myself as well!

You could always go with a cape. I've been looking for a light, beaded one, but I've been coming across a lot of heavier faux fur lined ones that would be perfect for a winter wedding

I really like the idea of wedding capes. Maybe one with fur lining would be extra warm for the winter!

Capes or fur stoles usually work best I also think. They are better for formal occasions and will wrinkle your dress less

Amazon has a ton of them, and I’m sure you can find them on artsy as well.

Does anyone have any pictures of their dresses with these various looks? I'm so curious to see how the various colors play together as well as styles.

I hadn't thought of the capes & shawls being better for not wrinkling your dress. Very interesting!
