Will your Dj's mix songs for you

Liz, on February 25, 2021 at 4:35 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
Before I ask my DJ officially, can you ask your wedding DJ to mix songs for you, or is it too much to ask. I'm not talking about fade in/outs or cutting down of forst dance songs or what not. But like a brand new literal club mix of different songs in one.

I wouldn't really expect this. You could definitely ask, and if they have club DJ experience, they may be open to it. I've personally never been to a wedding where I heard anything like that.

Talk with your DJ- see what your options are. Hopefully he can give you what you want.

Like mash ups… There are a lot of DJs that are in capable of doing mash ups. If you haven’t already you should listen to “girl talk “he is the king of mash ups! You would have to Specifically ask the DJ for that. If you’re located in or near Rhode Island I can give you the name of the dj here that does it.

Ours did! However, he only offered it when we started discussing what we wanted to do for our first dance.

Our DJ was able to cut our special dances down/edit them, so they wouldn't be too long.

This is really a question for your DJ.

Most pro djs are able to do this. Ask to make sure.

Definitely ask. My DJ made a new recording for our first dance. I couldn't find my favorite version of a song by Iron and Wine, so I sent them a video file I recorded at an Iron and Wine concert of the song, and they were able to turn it into an mp3 for us!

I actually have this same question. We’re doing a sit down no dancing wedding even though nyc has allowed dancing starting the 15th but in the off chance cases rise and it gets revoked by June, we decided not to change the wedding and leave it be. But if we are still allowed to dance within pods my fh and I were thinking to share our last dance with guests and have the dj mash up a few line dancing songs like the cha cha slide, shuffle, wobble etc. and we share a masked up, distanced, household pod dance in the last 10 minutes of the wedding. So I will also be asking this question to my DJ as well.
