Where to Honeymoon to in October to avoid Hurricane Season?

Bear, on April 6, 2022 at 4:49 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5

Hi All - We are getting married on 10/22. We are trying to figure out where to honeymoon that will avoid Hurricane season. We've read the "ABC" Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao). We are looking for warm weather and beaches. We will be going for 6 days from New England area. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I hear San Francisco is the warmest and sunny that time of year.

The island of Grenada is generally below the hurricane belt.

Aruba is gorgeous and yes, it is outside the hurricane belt so it's good. I've gone to the Dominican Republic in October/November on several occasions without any issues and just some rain for like 20 minutes on 1-2 days. However, there is always the risk of an actual hurricane hitting the island while you're there. Hawaii is another option.

The ABC islands as well as some Central American countries are definitely great. We're also in New England and were concerned about hurricane season as well. My honeymoon is around that time and we decided on Hawaii. I don't know how far you want to travel, but South Pacific islands are also good that time of year (Fiji, Maldives, Seychelles, etc.)

The ABC islands are far enough south that they're not frequently hit by hurricanes and I've heard great things about them! My in-laws recently went to Aruba and loved it - their neighbors go there every year for two weeks, so it must be good lol.
