Where to get ready on the big day?

Sara, on November 19, 2019 at 8:11 PM Posted in Connecticut Planning 0 1
I’m trying to think of options in regards to places to get ready for myself and my wedding party and I’m having trouble on a couple fronts. The hotel we’re staying in on the wedding night is lovely but it’s a smaller, boutique hotel and I have SEVEN people in my bridal party so no room would accommodate all of us, my mother and the two or three stylists/makeup artists. So I need a bigger place. Unfortunately, anything I’ve come across thus far in regards to hotels/Airbnbs aren’t necessary suited for pictures aesthetically. My photographer is super artsy and he brought up the importance of beautiful surroundings for beautiful getting ready shots, so your run of the mill room at the Marriott isn’t quite that.

I’m by no means super fussy, just need it to be big and somewhat pretty, so I was wondering if perhaps any brides might have a more out-of-the-box idea that I might not have thought of; I have total bride brain right now since I’m overloaded with wedding work to do so that’s not helping my lack of creativity here haha!
Oh and the ceremony is in Meriden, that would be helpful info Smiley smile Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Sara Smiley smile

I would advise you check out other local hotels and Airbnbs, however, it sounds like you’ve done this and didn’t like any of the options. I’m afraid this leaves you with not a lot more options.

Could you book another room in the hotel next to your room for the wedding party to get ready in? You could leave both doors open and people can flow between the rooms, however, this could minimize overcrowding!

Did you ask your venue coordinator if there are any connecting rooms? Even if the rooms don’t connect, as long as they’re close to one another, this could work.
