Where did you get your card box?

Ceb, on August 20, 2021 at 10:27 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 19
Where did everyone get their card boxes? I found one on Etsy that I love…but it’s $120! Seems really steep for a piece of acryclic. Thanks in advance and pics appreciated!

$120 seems steep for a card box!! Check out other Etsy shops, or Amazon, or Facebook Marketplace, or even check out local wedding groups on Facebook, I've seen many brides selling their signs/boxes/decor after their weddings for decent prices.

I actually got a cheapy disposable one from target for like $5 haha

but i think if you are going to get something that will be kept as a memory box then it's ok to spend that

Im doing a fall themed wedding so im actually using a large funkin (one of those fake hollow foam pumpkins) and cutting a hole for cards to be slid into.

We are using a wood crate for ours but I’ve seen acrylic ones at hobby lobby for around $30!

I got this one from Amazon and then just painted it one of my wedding colors! It served its purpose very well and was cheap enough that I won't be upset to get rid of it.

I got this glass box at Marshall’s for $30. I have ordered a custom gold decal with the word “cards” in cursive to put on the front

We used an old metal milk box that I had outside as decoration. Cleaned it up and BOOM...free card box.

My future father-in-law made ours. It was a lot cheaper, and real wood. I can't believe it how much those things can be on Etsy! I've told him he needs to open his own shop. He also made our selfie frame.

We haven’t gotten that far yet but you can find them at the local craft stores (Joann, Michaels) in the wedding section. Make sure to use lots of coupons so you aren’t paying a lot.

In our families and social circles, couples use a basket and there isn’t any issue with theft because no one gives cash along with the full table of physical gifts. I attended a vow renewal awhile back where they used a cheap birdcage that no one could steal or get cards out of easily.

I wasn't interested in spending a lot on it.

I think ours was a little over $100 but we feel like it was worth it because we're keeping it to store wedding related stuff like the cards we actually got and other little trinkets/small gifts from throughout the night. Even though it has our old date on it, we still used it.

I bought our card box on OfferUp from a local (former) bride. Only cost $25. I’m not going to bother personalizing it because I’m going to sell it right after the wedding.

Omg, I did not know those were even a thing. I, too, am having a fall wedding and I will be buying one of those pumpkins now. Thanks for mentioning that!

You can buy them at most craft stores this time of year and carve them just like a normal pumpkin. I saw this on pinterest and loved it. I will be using a large orange pumpkin. I will start by just carving the opening for the card then after the wedding I will cut the top or bottom off to retrieve the cards. That way once they are in there no one can walk away with a card or two or open them easily. Where did you get your card box? 7

Not the best photo because the card box itself is angled a bit in this pic, but we got ours at TJ Maxx for $20. And it just says "Love" so we could potentially reuse it for another event (baby shower, birthday celebration) or let friends borrow it for their wedding events.
