Where are my June 2020 Brides?

Carol, on May 19, 2020 at 3:04 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

Our Hawaii Honeymoon was pushed back to our 1 yr anniversary. So now I need to rethink Honeymoon. Where is everyone going to Honeymoon in June?

We postponed our April honeymoon to Hawaii to September after our new September wedding date. We actually just re-booked our resort and flight, but we made sure to book places that have free cancellation up to the last minute.

I'm not sure a lot of places are going to be open in June, I'm sorry!

I'd look for something within driving distance, easily cancelable, and with as little contact with others as possible. Maybe rent a small house on a beach somewhere? Or in the mountains?

I don't think we are doing a honeymoon right away Smiley sad It's still not a good time to be traveling, and our original honeymoon was supposed to be a 3 week, 5-country European honeymoon.

We decided we are going to get legally married on June 20, and we will have our full wedding later this year or next. Our honeymoon may just end up being a one year anniversary honeymoon. I'm sad about it. Sad about everything not being "traditional." But I'm slowly coming to terms with everything like going to sign marriage papers on June 20 and not telling anyone until after. Having a wedding after being legally married. Probably not having a bachelorette party. Don't know about a bridal shower. It's been a long, stressful, anxiety filed 3+ months for me, and it's taken me that long to finally decide what I wanted to do regarding getting married and our wedding.

We were suppose to get married on May 30 and now we are also looking at June 20. We had to mourn over not having something traditional, even though we were planning a smallish wedding anyway. My fiance only invited a few very close people to him and now they can't be there. I think you're right about "slowly coming to terms with everything..." and that's where we are. There is hope on the horizon that we will have some of the traditional things. I hadn't even picked my dress yet so I just ordered an inexpensive simple dress on JJHouse. Ugh. I think I'm sad about not having a bridal shower and seeing my friends. I was a bridesmaid many, many times so it felt nice to have something special for me, as selfish as it sounds. My fiance were in the hospitality business) and thank God we got out in the fall (can't imagine how stressful it'd be now). During a time when it feels like nothing is certain, I told him I had to make a decision about what is certain: wanting to start the new chapter of our life. It's like we're a puzzle and we keep waiting to put the final piece in and everything around us keeps preventing us from putting the last piece in. I think, for me, I had to stop and think of what I can control and what is giving me peace through all this... and that's him. We will have our bigger celebration with friends and family later, but now we get to focus on us instead of where people will sit or eat or what favors to give them, etc. And now I'm trying to think of where we can go to simply get away for some peaceful moments together for a honeymoon. We wanted to go to France, but perhaps we can find some tranquility some place closer for now. Know you aren't alone, Adrianna. This has been very difficult and it's almost helpful for me to see that other brides and couples who feel this way too. We will get through this together and still make some wonderful memories to take with us. My fiance are planning a backyard tiny wedding at my parents' house now and we call it "Wedding #1" and we joke about getting married many times to each other, maybe making each one better and better.

Not selfish at all! This is the one day where it's all about you, so it's natural to feel sad about missing out that special moment. I too have been a bridesmaid many times and have attended many weddings these last few years. They all got to have their perfect dream wedding, and that's all I want for me. But I agree, I am starting to see the silver lining. It's almost like we will have two anniversaries. Our legal one, and our wedding one with all our family and friends. Not to mention, this will make a great story to tell down the road - especially to your children!

You might consider a camping trip or rent a cabin or something relaxing and peaceful like that. Just trying to think of things where social distancing makes sense and you can still have some fun Smiley smile

Thanks for your comment, Adrianna! We are all in this odd crisis together. And yes, I like the idea of having two wedding anniversaries! I’ve been checking AirBNB for some options. He and I always find ways to have fun no matter where we go. We attempted engagement photos this last weekend and it was hysterical! Where are my June 2020 Brides? 1

I love your attitude! You’re right, anywhere you go with the love of your life will be lots of fun! I’ve been working from home nonstop. Was supposed to go to a music festival earlier this month, but it was cancelled. (And my bachelorette was supposed to be this weekend in Vegas) I am so ready for a vacation, so after June 20, work will die down for me so I’ll definitely be able to a mini-moon!
I love your photo! It’s so cute and such a beautiful tree!

We are in Illinois and planned for a Hawaii honeymoon but ended up canceling because we just weren’t sure about the restrictions being lifted. When we were obsessively checking in March and April, Hawaii had a 2 week immediate quarantine before you could go anywhere else.

We are now going to Galena, IL. There’s a sweet little lodge we’re staying at with our own cottage. We’re going to do restaurants, zip lining, hiking with goats, alpine slide and a couple other things. We had our hearts set on Hawaii for so long but we really are so excited!!! As long as we’re together and we get a little vacation away, I’m happy.

It's definitely a stressful time to be a bride. We'll just do our honeymoon whenever we get around to it, lol. Ours will likely be a trip to Japan, since we both love it there and it's where we met Smiley heart
