Where are my July Brides?

Erin, on February 17, 2020 at 4:21 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
I love to see the different themes and plans people come up with for their big days. This is a special shout out to my July Brides.
What have you guys been working on?where are you getting married? What are or were your themes? What are you most excited about? Possibly the most important, what’s the weather supposed to be like?

I’m getting married in the mountains, planning a rustic but romantic affair. Being in the mountains in Colorado, it’s likely to only be about a high of 65 degrees, even at the dead of summer.

Hello fellow July 2021 bride. 👋👰 We're getting married at an arboretum in Philadelphia so it'll be hot (jealous of your Colorado mountain location!), but we've checked about shading and it should be fine by a 6pm ceremony. The reception is tented adjoining their building with AC. We've just done venue, caterer, my dress, and photographer. We're going for a blue and white chinoiserie theme with splashes of a sophisticated red to tie in the traditional Chinese wedding color. I've started designing our invites but only because I'd like to do it leisurely and it's a destination wedding for 90% of guests so we'll be getting them out a touch early. Haven't done engagement photos yet but I hope soon. 🙏

I'm getting married July 11th (2020). We're having our ceremony by a small lake and our reception is in a newly rebuilt barn. It'll be 80+ degrees, but the barn is air conditioned. Our colors are blush and gray. Where are my July Brides? 1

These are pics from other weddings at our venue. The barn has had some new features added since these photos though.

July 11 here too! We're getting married at a local museum that has houses from the 1800s, an orange grove, a rose garden, a gazebo surrounded by jacarandas, and a few other fabulous areas on 12 acres. We're going for a vintage/romantic feel with modern elements in a hunter green/gold/blush/ivory color scheme. Right now, I'm doing everything I can at work to earn extra money to help pay for the final payments on the vendors. All the planning is done (which, dang! that was the fun part!) and now we're down to the final payments. I am also working on creating my pockets for my invitations (I'm making them myself on my Cricut) and will be starting the addressing of the envelopes probably mid-late March (again, using the Cricut). I'm super excited to see the 2 years of planning come together and to marry my guy. We aren't living together before the wedding, so I'll also be looking forward to moving in together after the wedding.

Thank goodness for AC, that's for sure. Most of our guests are out of state as well, so we're trying to be as transparent about all plans as we can be to give people a chance to plan.

It’ll definitely be interesting, but having lived with an ex in the past, I didn’t feel like there was much that changed between living together and not. Every relationship is different, so I’m not expecting a super seamless process when we’re on top of each other 24/7, but I don’t foresee too many major issues.
