What's your favorite date night?

Yasmine, on August 16, 2021 at 4:07 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 1 22

Just curious, what is you & your partners favorite date night?

For my husband and I, I would say going to a nice restaurant for dinner, then going to the casino (we usually have the best luck), then going back home for drinks & to watch TV/a movie. The funny thing is that my husband never gambled until we got together then he realize how much fun it could be playing the tables and slot machines. We don't do it too often, but we try to have a casino date night once every few months.

What about you? What are some things that you and your partner like to do on date night?

Your date night sounds amazing! I wish I had luck at the casino lol!

We had to get creative with COVID, especially during the shutdown. We found an indoor tent that hooks onto a mattress. We drag our mattress out to the living room, put the tent up & decorate it with twinkle lights. It has a door on 3 sides so we open all doors & we can watch movies from inside the tent like a living room camp-out.

We always make a fun dessert & popcorn. We also play some fun games that we got like a date night deck of cards that has relationship questions on them.

Also, we got a dart board for outside which has been a blast to learn. Someday I am determined to beat him! Smiley laugh

My fiance and I love to visit wineries! Especially if they have live music playing. We are wine club members at one of our favorite wineries, and one of our favorite restaurants is right next door to it. So, we'll sometimes get dinner at the restaurant, and then head over to the winery for either a glass of wine or a wine tasting. In the summer, we often bring with either a deck of cards or portable board game and hang out on the patio for a little bit.

We love to visit a local winery and then come home and watch a movie or a tc show together. We work opposite schedules so anytime we can get out and have a date is special.

We are both extroverts so our favorite date night is typically spent with other couple friends. We like to go to breweries or explore new restaurants. It could also be a simple get together or a cookout or an evening on the boat but it always involve spending time with our close friends.

With Covid, “movie night” isn’t as special as it used to be. I love going to new restaurants. Now that we’re vaccinated (and moved to a new state), we’ve gone out a few times to restaurants and had so much fun!

When we are allowed out, we love going to breweries! We live in an area with loads of microbreweries so it's fun to go to them and have a tasting paddle - lots of them also have food trucks and you get to try some interesting food too! We tend not to do date nights as much as date brunches. Getting up on a saturday and having a nice breakfast out somewhere is one of our favourite things to do. I drink coffee and scroll on my phone, my fiance reads the paper, it's just slow and blissful.

We also have had to get creative as we're in lockdown - we've had a Christmas in July dinner, where I roasted turkey breast rolled around stuffing and basted in white wine, I wore a Christmas sweater, we watched Christmas films and listened to Mariah... another weekend we had a balcony picnic with cheese and wine, and then we tried a clear-out weekend where we went through all our cupboards and got rid of a bunch of stuff... and today we bought a fondue set and plan to have a fondue night!

    A baseball game!

We've actually gotten to two this year, though not alone, but every second was bliss. (Obvi we missed last year, but we usually go at least once every season, more if we can manage.)

DH is likely to go to one more with FIL, but I won't be able to make that one... I'm too pregnant. Boo. Going in June was slightly uncomfortable, going in July was even more so... I can barely make it to the farmer's market right now! So... yeah, a baseball game is out of the question.

We don't go to watch our team win, that's ... not something they are particularly good at. We go just because baseball.

Our second favorite is theatre, but it's still not totally back and we don't feel quite safe about it, yet.

That's a good date night. I absolutely love wineries but my husband hasn't been to any before. I told him I would book us a wine tour soon and go to different wineries!
