It depends on few things a. your crowd, b.what you need and c. if you having shower. In our circle just about everyone gives a card with a check or cash at the wedding so will not be having a cash fund just a card box on the gift table. Sometimes older generations prefer to give gifts and will give one whether you have a registry or not so a small registry can come in handy. If you are having a shower then I d definitely recommend a registry, doesn’t have to be just kitchen items though you can update your sheets, towels, vacuum, a grill etc, people tend bring actual gifts to a shower and they are often opened at the shower. But do what you and your partner are most comfortable with. Happy planning !

You are welcome, you can also do a registry with gifts and gift cards and put a honey moon fund on there too where people can put money towards upgrades and activities for your honeymoon but do some research first because some of those funds charge annoying fees.

You can really put anything on there. Like Rosebud said, items you’d like to replace. Even if it’s mixing bowls, utensils, drinking glasses , blankets even candles. It’s totally up to you. We are also not doing a cash fund, but we will have a card box on the gift table just in case.

FH and I live together, but most of our stuff was cheap things we bought when we were in school, so we registered for a lot of the classic stuff (dishes, towels, sheets, etc.). We also put a bunch of personalized his and hers/ Mr. and Mrs. things on there from Etsy (because it's cute lol). Other items were gift cards, some fun gadgets we found on Amazon (like a Roomba), and things for our dogs.

We debated doing a cash fund, but 1) I have a feeling both of our families would think it was tacky and 2) if any of our guests want to contribute cash, we'd rather they just gave us a card at the wedding than have a chunk of it taken out through fees.

I did a cash fund for my honeymoon but broke it down to activities people can pay for us. i personally noticed that they were more inclined to buy the activities knowing exactly how much each thing cost and knowing what they were exactly getting.
