My boss is getting married later this month and though none of our team is invited to the wedding (it is a small, intimate wedding) we are all going to chip in to get the newlyweds a little gift.
Despite being married myself, I am clueless on what to get as in my culture/locality we all give monetary gifts so I have never received nor given a physical wedding gift, but obviously here given it is more of a token gift, it would be awkward to gift money.
We have about $200 to spend and would like something that is functional or practical and will be used, noting that we know nothing about the couple themselves (my boss can be quiet about himself and his interests) and know they will be renovating their home in the next 12 months.
To help with inspiration, what was your favourite wedding present you received? Any other suggestions also welcome!
Our 'back up' gift option is a gift voucher to the restaurant they are getting married at so that they can come back and celebrate their anniversary there.
