What was your favourite part of your bachelorette/hen's?

Rosie, on January 10, 2022 at 5:53 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8

So, assuming I manage to dodge covid for another 4 days, it is my hen's this weekend!

My sister and my SIL-to-be have organised it, and it's a surprise. All I know is to be ready to be collected at 1pm on Saturday.

I asked them to arrange a boozy, pretty high tea/brunch, possibly followed up with a few cocktails or drinks at a second place afterwards, maybe one with a nice view or an attractive interior. Definitely no penis straws, embarrassing 'L' plates or shot glasses, although I would wear a sash!

The only thing I'm certain they're doing is a game where they ask the husband-to-be a bunch of questions and I have to see if I can guess what he answered. If I get it wrong, I drink, and if I get it right, the guests drink. Questions like - when was your first kiss, what is one item of clothing you would love to get rid of from his wardrobe or that he would like to get rid of yours, who is the better singer, who is more likely to be late, etc.

Because my favourite colour is pink, I also thought it might be fun to make the suggestion to guests that they could wear that colour (only a suggestion of course!), and I could be in white and pink. I'm looking forward to seeing how people interpret the theme, and also taking a picture of us all!

I'm a bit nervous but also excited to see what my sisters have come up with, and it made me wonder what your favourite part of your hens/bachelorette party was? What did you do, and what did you wear?

Oh that dress is so pretty! So on theme for the activities! Please do report back on your day and the fun surprises your girls plan for you!!

So many parts of my bachelorette were amazing! I got married in Orlando, and my party was the Thursday before. My MOH hosted a little brunch meet and greet to kick off the day in our villa with mimosas and donuts and other treats. I remember looking around at all of my favorite women from all the different parts of my life interactivity and just having the best time. From there, the daytime was really fun—drinking and snacking around Epcot and going on some of my favorite rides.

But the evening was definitely my favorite—my MOH made reservations at my favorite Irish pub and we had a fantastic dinner. After dinner everyone from my now husband’s side left and it was just me and my closest friends and cousins. It was sooo much fun catching up and doing carbombs and listening to the live Irish music. At one point I got pulled onto a platform to dance with another bride to be. We then bar hopped to two more bars with different but really fun vibes and ended the night dancing away.

I wore the same dress all day, the drop waist lace mock neck below. For the theme park I rocked my rose gold glitter sneaks, and at night I changed into gold wedges!

The dress you picked is super pretty! Enjoy your party this weekend, and congratulations!!

I haven't had my bachelorette party yet - my MOH and bridesmaids are planning it, and I honestly have no idea what they're planning!

I've attended a few bachelorette parties in the past celebrating other people: one was attending a baseball game and then bar hopping, and the other was a weekend away where we did a pedal tavern and went bar hopping. At both parties, everyone had matching shirts that we all wore.

That sounds so fabulous! And what a cute outfit! I think it sounds like your bachelorette hit all the high points of what you potentially want the event to be - I hope mine is half as good, and I look forward to sharing details afterwards!

Oh, those sound so fun, and very tailored to the person whose bachelorette it was! I do love a specific theme that really suits the person!

Just the other day I was having lunch with my sister, and I told her I wish I'd suggested an adult petting zoo, lol! I heard you can rent them and honestly I can't imagine anything better than turning up to a friend's house and going into their back yard to cuddle a piglet or stroke a calf's nose while drinking mimosas or something! She laughed and told me she had NOT planned a petting zoo, so I know whatever happens at the hens, it won't be that, lol.

Oh! And I forgot to mention that my MOH asked everyone to dress in pink or red too! It made for some very cohesive pictures without making anyone buy a tshirt they’d never wear again!

For mine we just spent a day together. although i love trips and stuff, i opted instead to just have a single day of activities.

i am more of an offbeat bride so i wanted something really different!!!

we went horseback trail riding and then virtual reality gaming after.

what i really liked was the fact that it was a new experience for ALL of us doing these things.

That sounds so nice! Trail riding would be lovely! I haven't been since I was a young teen, so I'd really enjoy that, and virtual reality gaming would be very cool. I've not tried virtual reality gaming, but I have tried a virtual reality education program and that was really fascinating - when that's readily available to students it would be such an incredible way to learn!
