What to wear under my dress?

Megan, on September 28, 2019 at 11:19 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hi! I'm picking up my dress on FRIDAY. What do I wear underneath the dress? The top is heavily illusion mesh, so that seems to say no bra, but I don't want to be braless in the wedding shop. When I was shopping, I had on shapewear for the bottom, but it came up too high and you could see it in the back.

Bonus: IT HAS POCKETS.

That's a beautiful dress! Do you think a sticky bra would help you feel not so exposed?

You’re probably going to have to have cups sewn into the dress. If you’re just picking it up, I wouldn’t worry too much about undergarments. You just need to make sure it fits on you and then your seamstress can get it to fit you perfect.

That’s a beautiful dress! I also had mesh so there wasn’t an option to wear a bra which I wasn’t mad about. Most dresses with mesh have cups already in it so you don’t have to worry about that. I personally change my cups for smaller one because I don’t have a big breast and the cups that came with it made me look bigger and fake and I just didn’t like it so I went small with minimal support.

I have a similar-style dress. Have cups sewn in to the front of the dress. For shapewear, I just bought Spanx Undie-tectable Briefs. They provide just enough tummy control without being visible in the back of the dress with the mesh/lace.

It does have cups sewn in! I originally tried it on in two different sizes, so I'm interested to see how the cups fit with my actual size!

Is your concern only being braless in the shop? They shouldn’t need to see anything except sneaking in to zip you up from behind.

Try gaffers tape! Check out the reviews on amazon. It’s great! Just be careful when removing it. I usually get in the shower and remove it after it’s soaking wet.
