What time to get started on wedding day?

Jordan, on March 9, 2020 at 6:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hey everyone! Just wondering what you will be doing or what you did for you wedding day timeline?

Or any suggestions on what time to start getting ready and to wake up?

I have 4 bridesmaids, my flower girl and my mom are getting ready with me.

We are getting our hair and make up done, the lady that is doing our hair said it will take about 30 minutes for all the girls and me an hour. Smiley smile

Our wedding ceremony starts at 5PM and i am doing a first look with my dad. Just trying to figure out how early i should getup and get everyone started.

Also are you supposed to do your hair or make up first?

Thanks so much!

My ceremony was at 5p too and we woke up around 9a or earlier to get ready and do photo shoots and set up. We had to set up our own ceremony though so that was an extra 1.5-2 hours before ceremony so if you don’t need to set up your own ceremony then it would be adjusted

Our photographers & videographers made a photography/videography timeline for us. We sent that timeline to the hair & makeup artist and she came up with a timeline for that.
Our wedding started at 5:30. We did a first look before the ceremony. Photography started at 3:00 and hair & makeup started at 9:00.

I would consult your HUMA and photographer as they will have the best advice for timing.

What I did was ask my photographer what time I needed to be ready and in my dress so we had time for first look and wedding party photos before the ceremony. Then I told my hair and makeup artist what time I needed to be ready by and she told me what time we would need to start in order to have all girls done by then.

Our wedding also starts at 5. We're doing a first look and some other pictures before the ceremony, but no getting ready photos. We're allowed to get to the venue at 2:30, so I asked the hair and makeup people for a time based on that. We're starting at 11.
