What Part of Wedding Planning Made You Laugh the Most?

Melinda, on January 11, 2022 at 12:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

So we are currently 60 days out from our big day (Eek!). Wedding planning has been waaaaay more stressful than I ever anticipated and the time has flown by!

We are coming down to the wire on things to do and are mostly just putting final touches on everything.

I recently realized that when I had the guys order their suits from the Black Tux in September that I did not include any sort of belt or suspenders for them. Smiley xd

I don't know whether it's the stress/lack of sleep/ or the mental image of 9 gentlemen having to hold their pants up on the day of..... but i've been laughing harder than I have in months about this. It was a laugh that I needed!

Any one else have any amusing hiccups while planning?

PS- pray for me to get some belts in on time! Haha

My husband's best friend messed up the ordering of his tux and we found out the week of our wedding. So he was at a tux store that week. Luckily he found a grey tux. Wasn't the same shade but he was the best man so it was able to be played out as on purpose. Also, my husband got his haircut the Sunday before and it was so uneven and bad. I was terrified it would be in our photos. He went back and got it fixed.

Everything day of worked nicely but there was defiant hiccups beforehand lol. Smiley xd

As a wedding gift to my fiancé we will be having wedding pictures taken at Epcot. I kept it a secret for a year and literally a month out I forwarded that email to him by mistake instead of another email I had to forward lmao I was sooooooo upset but at the end laughed it off

Kudos to you for laughing instead of crying LOL! The time I think I laughed the most was when my future brother-in-law showed me a suggestion for the groomsmen outfits that was hot pink pants, a silvery gray shirt, and a navy jacket. He was trying to incorporate the bridesmaid dress colors (a light champagne rose, a silvery gray, and a dark navy) and failed tremendously. Yes, it was entirely a joke but we all had a good laugh about it.

If they are tuxes, there is no belt loop. They often have side "tighteners?" at the hip.

I'm 67 days out and I can't believe I made it this far without losing my freaking mind LOL. My FH is making it "fun". A couple months ago, I had settled on the color palette - talked to my bridesmaids about dresses, ordered chair sashes to see what colors looked best, etc. I'm pretty sure I mentioned to my FH that I wanted the men to be in light grey suits but he doesn't remember that. We weren't really ready to order the suits at that point. Well, he calls one day as he's leaving the men's store and lets me know he bought his suit for the wedding, all proud of himself. I was like, uhh ok great. So what color is it?
Color? Oh, I don't know let me see.. it's Navy blue. Is that ok? I was like nooooo. Not even close! He had already had it altered and paid in full. LOL So he and the groomsman will be wearing navy blue. We're making it work and laughing about it. Honestly, the whole planning process has been this way. He has no clue why things need to be a certain way and I'm not even picky. When I suggested making a Welcome sign with our picture on it and he was like, "yes, they're driving all the way out there we should make sure they know whose wedding it is" 🙄😆

For us, the only thing I found amusing was when we went to a hardware store to look at plastic carpet protectors, thinking this might work better to showcase the grass we'll be walking on than an actual red/white/whatever carpet, and for less, lol.

We were able to buy a section for a few dollars and took it out to our local park to try it out on the grass while I was wearing heels, lol.
