        • Highs - I’ve worked in the wedding industry for years, and now I’m getting married in September! My fiance and I have loved pulling together our playlist and we have our catering tasting coming up. I’m so excited to try all the delicious food we’ll be sharing with our guests at our celebration.

        • Lows - One part of wedding planning that I’m less enthused about is the dinner seating chart! We have a complicated family, so we’re a bit nervous about the politics of seat placements!

        • How’s planning going for you?

I’m already married but I was less than enthused about paying for the wedding aha and planning logistics. I was however pretty stoked for the food portion

High - my dress, open bar, dancing, our great venue in a super cool part of the city.
Low - huge guest list. I have anxiety for staying organized, crowd control and sticking to timeline. I’m relying on a DJ I’ve never met before to take the lead. But he’s got awesome reviews on WW.

Yes to all of those highs! Very fun Smiley tongue

For the lows on your end... definitely hire a florist! They can work with your budget and color palette to create works of art.

In regards to music, we've been using Spotify to actually pull together our playlist, since it allows us to collaborate on the list together. And I've been reading a lot of articles on WeddingWire with new song recommendations, like this roundup of recommendations for 2020 first dance songs: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-ideas/2020-first-dance-songs

Also, our DJ has been helpful with answering questions and providing song inspiration, so you might want to talk to your pro about your playlist. When my sister was planning her wedding their DJ asked them to curate a list of 10 must-play songs, first dance songs, and 5 do-not-play songs, and he took it from there! Just having that handful of music recommendations from my sister and her husband gave her DJ a look into their music style, and he did an amazing job! Have you hired your band or DJ yet? You can also look to family and friends for song recommendations. I've seen RSVP cards where guests are asked to share what songs will get them on the dance floor.

I cannot wait for our honeymoon, too! Smiley heart I think that's one high many of us can agree on!

For decor inspiration, I love to look at other people's real weddings: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-photos/real-weddings and the wedding photos that WeddingWire shares on Instagram: http://instagram.com/weddingwire

Also, talk to your venue manager or planner about what they've seen work well in the space. Good luck!!

Based on your list of high's, I can tell you're going to have a killer party to celebrate your marriage! 🎉

Those lows, I hear you! Do you have a month-of or day-of coordinator? Some venues offer them with their wedding packages, or you can hire professional coordinators, too. They can be a life saver in keeping everyone organized, on time, and in their places. Glad to hear you have a DJ who sounds like he's got your back and will keep the party moving along!

A big guest list can feel a bit overwhelming on the wedding day because you'll want to feel like you have a moment to say hello and chat with everyone. At the end of the day, remember that your guests are there to celebrate you and your marriage. I recommend that you and your fiancé take a moment during your reception to just step back and look out at all the faces who are present. Don't try to be a host, instead remember that you are the guests of honor and enjoy yourself!

I'm with you on all accounts here! Luckily you have more than a year to save, so with the right financial plan you'll be in great shape when it comes to paying for the wedding. Have you checked out the WeddingWire Budget Tool? It's available in the WeddingWire app and on desktop, and it will help you break down estimated costs for each vendor based on your total budget. I've loved using it to help keep us on track and within budget.

Yes the budget tool has been so helpful!! I love that I can keep track of everything we’ve paid for, and it’s helped us get and idea of exactly how much we need to save.

My venue that I found takes care of literally everything! All I need to find is a photographer/videographer (which I already have a few places in mind)! My FH and I really lucked out, because I feel so stress free with the entire process! I think the only low however would be FH’s family specifically his mom. We’re not on speaking terms with her right now because we’re not doing what she wants for our wedding. (Which she’s not paying for)😑 You can’t win all battles lol

That's SO nice! It feels so great to have a team of pros to take care of you.

Family drama always seems to find some way to creep into wedding planning--even amongst the most stable and well meaning families. I'm confident with a little time things will get easier for you all, and hopefully she will realize that above all else, it is important to support the ones she loves and be a part of your celebration.

I have these moments of extreme highs in the planning process (I plan corporate events all the time). The reality strikes and I realize this isn’t a corporate event, this is our wedding and suddenly I feel incredibly overwhelmed.

We meet in person with our venue, perspective photographers and baker next week and I excited and nervous. I found the dress, just nervous it could be delayed because of coronavirus (as I’ve been told many times could be a possibility). Time is moving so quickly and feel like before we know it, it will be our wedding day and we won’t be ready at all.

Most Excited About: Going to events with my closest friends (bridal party) and Fiance and talking things over with them. Creating things and getting things crossed off our list.

Least Excited about: Dealing with family and facing negative opinions and judgement.
