Western us Honeymoon?

Gracey, on August 17, 2021 at 10:58 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

I'm thinking that I don't want to leave the country on my honeymoon. I was thinking about doing a trip to Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon, something like that out West (I live in PA)! My fiance is not a fan of beaches and we both like being in the "wild". Any suggestions as to where you have gone or you are planning on going? Anything all-inclusive here in the US of A?

Hey! I'm from AZ originally, and I cannot recommend doing northern AZ and southern Utah enough! Sedona is beautiful and has incredible hiking trails, waterfalls, tours, etc. Horseshoe Bend is something you absolutely must see once in your life. The pictures online don't even do it justice. If you go to Sedona and then rent a car, it is a beautiful mini road trip to do there, then pass through horseshoe bend/grand canyon area, and then go into utah for some of their incredible landscape! I also love the petrified forest, I think the history you get to see going through there is amazing (cave drawings and such!)

It depends on how much money and time you guys plan on for the honeymoon but you should try to check off a lot of the national parks on the west coast! It would be so cool if you guys could rent a car and drive around to a bunch of the ones in a certain state (California, Washington, or one of the Midwestern ones)

Both Grand Canyon and Yellowstone are amazing! Depending on how long you’re traveling, you could do a road trip to a couple of national parks too. There are a lot in southern Utah/Arizona/southern NV/southern CA. I just recommend checking the weather for when you plan on going as it can snow heavily in the winter and be extremely hot in the summer.
Also I don’t know if any fully inclusives in the US, but there are a couple of inclusives (food + activities) that I’ve been to. Look into Canyon Ranch in Tucson or Red Mountain Resort in St George.

Come a little further west and add Yosemite to the list, it will not disappoint! We did the Big 4 parks in Utah last year and it was hot hot hot, but absolutely amazing! Of you do go to a National Park but the yearly pass, third park usually pays for the pass, totally worth it and it's good for a year

I agree with pp about considering Yosemite, and if you do that, I'd expand it to the Eastern Sierras and spend time in and around Mammoth Lakes.... So beautiful with lots of cool "day trip" type activities (e.g., Hot Springs, Devil's Postpile, Rainbow Falls hike, Bodie ("ghost town", Mono Lake, etc., etc., etc.). It's beautiful in the late summer/early fall!
