Weightloss

Cara, on September 19, 2021 at 3:44 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15
In the past 4 years I have gained close to 100lbs. Sadly, I almost lost my life almost 3 years ago due to undiagnosed inflammatory condition which caused me to lose the ability to walk, go on prednisone and then due to fatigue I couldn't lose the weight. Thankfully I'm much better than where I was but I want to lose that 100lbs before next year and I know it's possible because over 10years ago I lost 100lbs on my own, except now it's more difficult with my fatigue. Are there any online trainers or any recommendations anyone has to help on this journey? Thank you in advance.

Have you tried the Keto diet? I have an autoimmune disorder and it is the only thing that has helped me lose weight.

I started out at 248 pounds & I am now at 195 (was at 188 at the time of my wedding). I started with keto than went to intermittent fastings. I need to get back on keto!

Good for you for being proactive about your health. I’ve heard wonder things about keto, the lifestyle app Noom and honestly a number of different resources. It’s all about finding something you can stick with. Do you have health insurance? If so I recommend signing onto your plan’s website and doing a search for nutritionists who are covered or partially covered for a visit or two. They’ll be able to help you figure out if a CICO type plan or something more like keto is suited to you and your habits.

Check out pinterest for keto ideas for dinner and snacks. I have been changing up how we eat and have lost a little weight since cutting down on carbs.

If you are thinking about keto, please talk to your doctor first. It can cause a lot of long term health issues, especially with certain pre-existing conditions.

Weight loss is a mathematical equation of calories in vs. calories out. You want to create a calorie deficit by 1. Decreasing calorie intake and 2. Exercise. According to most research, sustainable weight loss will typically be in association of building healthy habits in eating and moving (Noom and Weight Watchers both base their programs around this).

THIS. Keto is very trendy right now, but can be so so so dangerous if your body doesn't NEED to be on that diet. Definitely talk to your doctor about the healthiest ways to help you lose the weight.

Talk to your doctor. It took your 4 years to gain the weight, it may take you 4 years to lose it if you are being healthy. Consult a nutritionist and begin long walks or jogs until you get an appropriate workout plan. Be patient. Your FH asked you to marry you the way you are now. Your health is most important.

I love intermittent fasting because I can still eat pretty much whatever I want for dinner. Its also not as hard to follow or as hard on your body as going carbless. Also, I hate exercising as I am always pooped after working and taking care of the kids, so I just go for a brisk walk for 30 minutes!

Weight watchers worked wonders for me. I only have the app, and it's plenty. The point system is very easy, because you don't have to count calories or macros, it's all already counted into the points. And you can eat pretty much anything, but it really taught me healthy eating habits when I saw how many points some of my favourite snacks would cost me. And the recipes in the app are really tasty.
Don't do Keto or any "fab diets", you can ruin your health that way and the weight loss won't last.
