Weekday Honeymoon in October - help

Brepybus, on April 21, 2020 at 8:13 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4

Hi! Hope you guys can give me some advice. My fiance and I were supposed to be getting married in May but have had to postpone our NYC wedding & honeymoon to the end of October. We have NO IDEA where to go in October. The wedding had to get postponed to a Sunday so our honeymoon would only be Monday-Friday. Unfortunately, we could not get a refund from Southwest so our new honeymoon destination has to also be within the U.S. for the most part.

Does anyone have any good recommendations on places to go in October during the week? We considered Boston / Salem for Halloween festivities but I'm not sure if there would actually be anything happening during the week instead of the weekend.

P.S. I HATE hiking so anything too nature-related is automatically out lol. And we live in Orlando - so that's out lol.

Would spending that week *in* NYC work? There's so much to do, here, from shows to zoos to museums to great food...

That said, if you aren't into outdoorsy things, then pick any city you've ever wanted to visit... and just go explore!

Chicago, Boston, LA, St. Louis, Austin, New Orleans...

You could also pick any of the beaches in the south, and enjoy off-season quiet and rates.

What would you want to be doing on your honeymoon?

No outdoorsy stuff but visiting a city, being at the beach, partying? Knowing what you'd want to be experiencing would help everyone recommend places to you!

I also agree thought that NY has so much fun things to do if you want to stay there. You could even take a train upstate and stay at a B&B near the Hudson river and then travel back to the city to explore.

I'm super open minded! I prefer being in a city, going to museums, parks, having options for shopping & dining! We love music so being able to catch a show even. But I'm open to somewhere tropical as well.

My fiance's family lives in NY so unfortunately we just go pretty consistently 2-3 times a year. we are still planning on being there 2-3 days before the wedding! Definitely considered Chicago as well as Boston. Thanks for the tips!
