wedding website for destination wedding

Getting Maui’d, on December 8, 2017 at 12:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

I am putting together my wedding website and it will have RSVP and info for both the destination wedding and the at home reception. We are inviting about 30 people to the destination part but over 100 to the at home reception. Is it awkward that if you aren't invited to Hawaii they will still go to the same wedding website for information and RSVP, or should I not even send the link out to those people? I wanted them to have the option to RSVP for the at home reception electronically. Just looking for some ideas on how this should be approached. thanks!!

This is extra work for you but I'm not sure how else to go about it -

You could, if you wanted to, create two websites - one for local guests and a destination one. That way, you give the destination website link to those invited to Hawaii and those invited to the local reception, the local website link.

It could be cute though - Create the Hawaii one in a destination-themed way, and then focus the local one on how it'll be locally.

    Just a thought!

I'm doing the same--we are having a cruise destination wedding which we really wanted with immediate fam and closest friends, and after much complaining from both sets of parents, we're doing an AHR for about 120 at a restaurant/banquet hall locally about 3 weeks later. My solution was to use WW for the destination wedding website, and I used a different platform for the AHR just so no information was crossed over and everything is separate. Also have 2 separate invitations for both events, but anyone invited to the cruise is also invited to the AHR

I would just do paper invitations/RSVP for the at-home reception and forego a website for it. Just do the website for the destination.

I would skip the website for the DW. I made one for oura and no one used it. Even to RSVP. They just called the travel agent and booked their trip. I used the travel agent as my RSVP list since almost everyone booked through them.

Send an e-vite for the home reception, that's what I'm going to do.....by then the wedding website is pretty much obsolete unless I have a page for that but it just doesn't feel right so I'm just going to do an e-vite or a real invitation.....

We have a website for our destination and regular invitations/ reply cards for our local reception. I thought about doing a second website for the local reception, but opted not to.... Too much work, plus there's really not that much more info our guests would need. All our out of town family and friends will get hotel info and are familiar with the area.

Hi! My wedding website allows options that certain guests can only see certain events
