Wedding Reception Favors

Carrie, on January 6, 2024 at 3:37 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 5
Do the guests really care about the favors? I tried to remember at all the weddings I've been to and I can't seem to remember what any of the favors were. Will guests be mad about no favors? I can't seem to find something everyone will like, nor do I want to spend even more money. What does everyone think?

I think unless they're edible, it's a waste of money. A lot of couples are choosing not to do favours lately.

Guests would probably not even notice (or care) if you didn't give out wedding favors. Save the money, and skip the favors.

I agree. Go edible or skip. We’re giving out cookies.

Favors are not necessary and for the most part not even traditional with the exception of a few specific cultures. I see them only occasionally, including black tie blowouts, and even then it’s usually just something edible. No one will miss them and if they do that’s due to a misunderstanding of protocol on their part. It’s perfectly fine to skip them. The reception is your thank you to guests.

Most guests leave them behind, which is a waste of money on your part. In our families, even edible favors are left behind. Guests appreciate much more when you budget toward good food, drinks they don’t pay for and a quality dj.
