Wedding preparations- health and beauty

Cassi, on June 20, 2019 at 9:12 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 13

How are you guys prepping for your big day? working out? braces? changing your diet! tell me all!

I had braces way back in the day but when I moved to FL they removed them to switch hardware and then decided they wanted to charge full price AGAIN to put them back on and my parents couldn't afford it.. so all the work my braces did while I had them on was erased. When I got engaged I decided I wanted a beautiful smile for my wedding so I got invisalign. Now I'm 3 1/2 months out and I have finished invisalign (and my smile is looking amazing) but now I want to whiten my smile. What is everyone doing for teeth whitening? I drink a lot of black coffee so my teeth stain very easily. I've been trying to drink with a straw to limit this staining but I still have stains!

I ordered crest white strips off of amazon and they have been AMAZING! I drink tons of black coffee too, all day every day really lol, and these strips have made a HUGE difference. I was skeptical and asked my dentist about her teeth whitening services and even she told me to just use crest white strips! The only downside is my teeth can be a bit sensitive, so if I use them back to back, my teeth start to hurt a bit. I just space them out! Once a week/every two weeks.

I also have joined a hot pilates/bikram yoga studio and have been going to classes regularly, which has been awesome. Best workout (inferno hot pilates) ever, and my body is changing for sure!

Oh! Also, I started using curology for my skin. They offer the first box free with 5 dollar shipping, and I am hooked. They have actual dermatologists that prescribe you a prescription strength mix of skincare creams, in one bottle. I have noticed my skin looks much brighter and clearer so far and I love it!

I haven't started to whiten my teeth but my dentist also said to just use the Crest White Strips! I take vitamins every day (multi, hormone balance, and biotin) and put collagen in my morning coffee. I honestly don't use anything special for my face, just whatever is on sale at Target at the time I go, but I do use a Clarisonic every morning. I workout five times a week and eat Keto and have been since before I was engaged!

6 months out I started HIIT classes twice a week & TIU app classes at home, then walking on the weekends. I cut out soda, coffee creamer, and desserts. Since then, I've lost around 12 lbs. 6 months out I also started facial treatments: microneedling for scarring & wrinkles & uneven skin tone, microdermabrasion for acne & scarring, and facials for acne. I'm most happy with the microneedling for sure. I'm doing an O2 facial, dermaplanning, and lash lift & tint 1 week out, then a body sugar scrub. I'm doing botox in my forehead & extractions next week. For teeth whitening, I use the arm & hammer whitening toothpaste, a whitening mouthwash, and the 14 day whitening strips! I'm also using moisturizing face masks and hair masks, and body/lip scrubs!

Crest white strips work great! Be careful with dentist treatments—my hubby did a Zoom whitening treatment before his first wedding and swears that’s what made his teeth brittle and on chipped off during his honeymoon!!! Even afterwards his regular dentist said Zoom is a bad idea. 🥺

I did keto to drop the 15 pound I wanted, hired a trainer 2x/week for six weeks in addition to going to the gym 3x/week. I did a facial the month before and facial sugaring/waxing. Crest white strips for all the coffee/red wine.

As a 40+ bride, I also did Botox & Juvaderm. Both helped but I hated the feeling in my face & freaked out.

Good post. I am working out with a trainer 3 days a week and working out probably 5-7 days a week in general. I am stretching every day for the honeymoon LOL. Drinking apple cider vinegar daily (I really don't but want too!!). Putting vaseline and castrol oil on my eye lashes so I dont have to wear false eyelashes. Lastly I am saying daily affirmations like, I have an amazing marriage, our wedding will be absolutely amazing, our honeymoon will be earth shaking, my husband adores me and we will live a long wonderful life together, I am incredibly happy, it is easy being married and getting along...and I go on and on. LOL. I love stuff like that. Love self improvement and self empowerment.

I am eating as healthy as I can. I loosely follow the Mediterranean "diet" and definitely don't deprive myself. I also follow intermittent fasting where I eat my normal amount of meals and snacks in 8 hours and fast for 16 hours each day. I also exercise regularly and do a combination of body weight/cardio, strength training and yoga.

Focusing on diet and exercise to lose some weight and tone up. I am keeping with 1G water a day with vitamins, I use my Clarisonic daily and a weekly mask and am *trying* to remember to use lotion/face sunscreen especially now that it’s summer. I finally fixed my teeth last year with Invisalign, now thanks to the advise from these forums I’ve been using (also a daily multi cup coffee addict!!) the Crest Professional White Strips. I started with the blue light for sensitive teeth but didn’t get banging results probably from the lack of gel intensity, the light still works so I use it with the Professional stronger grade and I’m getting GREAT results. It’s a 20 day kit so I use it every other day. The last thing I’m keeping up on is monthly Sugaring.

Eating cleaner with some Keto influences, moisturizing more often, and taking a 10 week Aqua Zumba class this summer at my local pool. So far 6lbs down!

I’ve packed my lunches (both to save money and eat better), I worked out almost every day up until this last month cuz I’ve been so busy, and I’ve been eating healthy. I’m getting married this coming Saturday (!!!!!!!) so the last two weeks I’ve been using charcoal paste in the shower every day to whiten my teeth. Doing it in the shower makes the mess easier to clean up lol. I can see a difference! I’m also putting on an overnight lip moisturizing mask every night to soften my lips. And this week I’m sitting outside as much as I can to get some color.. this may not be heathy but it’s part of my beauty routine lol. Oh and I’ve been applying “yes to” masks once a week to help my skin. I have had a zit on my chin that’s been there for about a month now and at this point I’ve accepted it as a permanent resident. Annoying but everything I’ve tried hasn’t helped!
