Wedding Photographers!

Sierrah, on March 26, 2021 at 6:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Hey everyone,

So I am having such a hard time committing to a wedding photographer. I have booked and placed all deposits on everything else but I can't commit to a photographer for my day. I have this vision in my head of the photos I want to be done and how I want them to turn out but I can't seem to find one specific person that I feel captures my idea...what are yalls thoughts on this? As these are something that will hang in our house forever, I want them to be good and to be what I have pictured but there hasn't been anyone that has jumped out to me for this.

And with my wedding being across the country, it's hard to fully commit to someone already with a task like this. Any suggestions? Tips? My wedding day is quickly approaching and I need to do this but am having such a hard time doing it!

Browse Instagram for "yourcityweddingphotographer" and see what styles grab your attention. Reach out to them and go from there.

Keeping looking! Search through the vendor tab on Wedding Wire, The Knot, and a Google search. Look through portfolios and websites of photographers in your price range, and when you find one whose photos you like, ask to see a full album from a recent wedding they shot to make sure that their photos all match your style and that you like the story that a full album tells.

Also join Facebook wedding groups for your area ("[city/area name] brides" or "[city/area name] weddings") and add a post stating that you're looking for a photographer, and also list your wedding date, budget, and preferred photo style. Include example photos if possible. Often times, vendors are also in those Facebook groups and will respond to people looking for vendors. That is actually how I found one of my vendors for my wedding.

Seconding the instagram #YourcityWeddingphotography or other iterations of that, to find some people that may not be as present or eager on facebook. Also consider if you have the budget for it you can have a photographer travel for your wedding. You probably should settle on someone soon though- 2021 is filling up quickly for many vendors- everyone I am working with is already overwhelmed with double the weddings this year from all the cancellations last year.

Good luck! Don't let perfect be the enemy of great. Every photographer has amazing shots and not so good shots. You are really only going to hang a few, so they don't all have to be dreamy magazine worthy photos!
