Wedding party

Crystal, on May 11, 2020 at 10:38 AM Posted in Planning 0 30
Is it wrong to not have a wedding party? I had too many friends and family and my fiancé and I just wanted us two up there the day of. But we have family saying to just have one MOH and one Best man. Is it rude to not have any at all?

Not rude at all. Whatever makes the most sense for you and your FH is what you should do.

It’s not necessary to have a wedding party

I’m not having a bridal party either! Too many schedules to work around and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings if they aren’t included. It ends up saving everyone money too!

Your wedding should be about you two, not your families. If that is what you want than I say go for it!

Nope! If that is what you want, I think that it is perfectly fine. We are not having one, I wanted to focus on us as well (and avoid any drama).

2 of my good friends got married in the last 4 years and none of them had bridal parties. If you don't want one then that is totally fine. Also it avoids drama and stress!!

Having a wedding party isn't necessary. If you don't want to have one then don't. Everyone is going to have their own opinions on things, but what you and your fiance wants is the most important.

A wedding party is not necessary and certainly not rude. I don’t have a wedding party myself. If friends and family love and support you they will be happy just getting an invite.

It’s your day! No wedding party necessary! Cut some cost too.

Not rude at all! Initially we were only doing MOH, which is my sister, and Best Man, which is his dad but we added one bridesmaid and a groomsman so that we could include two of our close friends. But if I’m going to be honest, I don’t think a wedding party is necessary. From a planning perspective, you will save time and energy! The one positive aspect is assigning duties for the day of but you can always ask for help without giving them a “title.”
Do what feels best for you! Smiley smile

We’re not having a bridal party for many of the same reasons mentioned above.

No! Do what makes you happy. I honestly wasnt sure that I wanted any attendants but FH really wanted to have a couple of groomsmen so we decided to just keep our wedding party very small. I only have a MOH and one bridesmaid, and somedays I wish I had just stuck to the no wedding party plan. Sometimes more opinions just overcomplicate things.

Hey! I don’t think it’s rude at all. I have asked a similar question in here too. We are not having a wedding party, just us and our 2 children up there with us. We decided to have an “I do crew” but we aren’t going to have actual titles and appoint people to be “in” our wedding. It’s your wedding, so what you want 😊❤️

I wasn't going to have a wedding party either because I didn't want to rank friends, make them buy dresses, etc. But then I started to regret it when I had no one to throw me a shower or bachelorette party (stupid and selfish I know, but I started to worry that I was missing out on the wedding experience with my dearest friends). In another vein, I postponed my wedding and I now have a year to go. After going through the mess of postponement, I don't feel bad AT ALL in recruiting friends to buy overpriced crappy dresses to be in my bridal party. Plus, with the extra year, all involved have time to save money to afford the added expenses of a bridal party (for them, the dress and maybe shoes. For me, their hair and makeup, jewelry, bridesmaid gifts, etc). This pandemic has taught me that relationships are so important, and I want to be close to my friends on my special day. So I see it both ways then- the reasons for not having a bridal party and the reasons for doing it.

Of coarse it's not rude to have just the two of you. This is your day and do whatever makes the two of you happy..... Congratulations...
