Wedding Night on a Budget

W-K, on October 4, 2019 at 11:24 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15

I can finally start thinking about our wedding night! We decided to book a hotel room locally that has Jacuzzi (a request from FH). It will only be for one night. We'll get there probably around 7:30pm and have to be out and up and picking up my kids for football early the next morning at like 7am. We plan on getting a bottle of champagne and maybe some strawberries. What else can we do to make our short mini-moon special?

Some hotels will add flower petals on the bed if you request it.

Oh that's true! I forgot that I could ask *them* to do that instead of arranging it myself.

I honestly think I'm just worried that we'll go there and be so tired we just fall asleep.

I love it! That will be so fun. I'd put some kind of snack in the room because we were STARVING when we came back to the hotel room since obviously we didn't eat a ton and were dancing/talking/etc. the whole night. Maybe something like cheese & crackers & meats & chocolate covered strawberries? We fell asleep around 2 hours after we got back. You could have a few romantic movies to watch just in case you guys want to?

Most hotels have additional services they offer like flowers, candles, etc., for honeymooners

If you wouldn't have already had dinner at your reception, order food from a nice restaurant and have it delivered. The hotel might set it up nice for you if you tell them the occasion. If you would have already eaten, I'd say just get some snacks, and maybe a speaker or something to play some music.

Have someone box a piece or two of cake for you all and have it in your room. I love cake! And I feel like brides/grooms only get one bite. I plan to a slice or so packed separately for us so I can really enjoy it when we are done for the night!

I just got an email back from the hotel saying they don't do any extra services such as rose petals. Unfortunately I'm not going to have time to check in early and do anything so I'll just leave what we have at what we have. I can guarantee I'm going to need that whirlpool after that day!

Can you get someone (ANYONE???) else to pick up the kids in the morning and take them wherever they need to go? I think the greatest "gift" you can give yourselves in sleeping in/relaxing till check out time. It's one night, please find a way to give yourselves a little tiny bit of alone time. Smiley heart

I’ve asked literally everyone I know but they all seem to be busy that morning.
