Wedding gifts for wedding party, groom/bride's parents, etc.?

Rachel, on January 1, 2022 at 2:28 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

Hi, Everyone! Happy New Year, I can't believe we are in 2022, time has definitely flown.

I just wanted to hear from some of you, what gifts (if any) are you planning on giving to your wedding party, bride/groom's parents, etc.? I have a beautiful embroidered handkerchief that I will be giving to my fiancé's mother, but that is as far as I've gotten. Does anyone have any ideas for the others? I am drawing a major blank!

I gave my mom a Vera Wang picture frame and plaque that I found on Etsy that showcased "our song" (link below). I gave my step-dad an engraved Fossil watch and a tie. Our only wedding party members were my niece/nephews, but I gave their dad a Fossil wallet & tie and their mom a necklace/earring set (from a site called Seraphine Creations) and a robe (note this was NOT a getting ready robe).

I want to make my girls a relaxation kit..I’m going to make cute bath salt boxes for them each infused with essential oils and dried flowers, the jewelry for the day, their robe and a tote bag that can be used after my wedding. I have no idea what I’ll get my mom yet.

For my wedding party, I got them each a tote bag, hangover kit, personalized wine glass, and then a couple gifts that are based on their individual interests/hobbies (so it's different for each person).

I am still struggling with gift ideas for parents, though I'm thinking I'll do a picture frame for each parent with a photo of them and their child, plus a couple other small things that I haven't figured out yet. Other ideas I'm considering are: personalized keychains, a bottle of their favorite alcohol (maybe with a custom label) and/or bottle opener, gift card for a spa, wallet, or anything that lines up with their hobbies.

I haven’t done my bridesmaids “proposal” yet, but I ordered the nicest duffel bags on Etsy with their names on each of them (stamped on leather). They were on sale so it worked our perfectly for my 4 friends. I will probably add other things to it before sending them off; but my gift for the wedding will be paying for everyone’s makeup to be done ❤️

I gave my friend a custom koozie as a wedding gift. He was a party boy and he likes to drink. So I gave him that and he really appreciated it. Firstly, I thought it was weird to give koozies then I found wedding koozies all over the internet in a single search. Not only that there were graduation koozies, bachelor party koozies, birthday koozies, and other various types of koozies I never heard of.

Parent gifts are optional and that it varies by what is common in your social circle. Typically when they are given, it’s a photo album from the photographer after the wedding.

Bridesmaid/groomsman gifts are best suited to fit their individual interests and hobbies unrelated to the wedding that will be appreciated long after the wedding is over. What are they each into? Browse Etsy for ideas. Props for photos and attire/accessories (jewelry, robes/pjs/totes/etc) for the wedding day are gifts for you, not them. They don’t have to match, and if something is engraved/embroidered with names/titles/date, it’s more likely to be tossed into the Goodwill bin.

Since one of my bridesmaids is my BF and the rest are my children, I've decided to get them something that is a reflection of their personalities. I also got something for my FH that is personal to him as well. He is crzy about the Incredible Hulk so I got him some engraved cuff links with "Incredible" on one link and "Hulk" on the other. I also got him a handkerchief which I got from amazon. I tried to post link bit because of foul language I can't.. The HC says, Keep you Ish together

I also got him a flask Amazon.com: INCREDIBLE HULK Engraved 8oz Black Hip Flask | Inspired by Comic Book Superheroes & Villains | Great Gift Idea for Super Hero Enthusiasts! : Handmade Products

and also so Incredible Hulk socks and t-shirt that he will be able to wear!

As for my bridesmaids I am still working on 5 of them currently. I already have something for my jr bm. It's hard to find gifts (for me anyway) but I'm also the kind of person that likes to give with plenty of meaning and something of use, something that is going to last. I did not want to give everyone the exact same gift because everyone is different.
