Wedding Flowers

Dawn, on March 28, 2020 at 7:25 PM Posted in Style and Décor 3 28
What is everyone using for flowers? There are so many options. Real flowers are so expensive. I’ve seen succulents used which is interesting. I’m using sola wood flowers. We have a Hawaiian theme wedding and these flowers fit in perfectly! I just hope I can make them as pretty. I’m doing orchids (silk) for centerpieces.
I’d love to hear what other brides are doing. I’m trying to keep costs low, and this was my solution. Wedding Flowers 1

I didn’t do flower centerpieces but for my bouquets I bought them at a craft store already assembled

I’m using real flowers arranged by a florist for my “people flowers”, and I’m making my own ceremony and reception decorations with artificial flowers from Michael’s, efavormart and Ling’s Moment. I’m working on my large circle hoop floral piece and sweetheart table centerpiece now. They are not finished yet and I’m not crafty by any means, but they aren’t too difficult to make. I’m actually proud of myself. I’ll start working on my aisle decor (lanterns with flower rings) and reception centerpieces (gold hoops with flowers and candles) next.

Still have plenty to do for centerpieces. This was just our trial run with jars and seeing the flower colors against the jar. I'll be adding more to the bunch of flowers and the dried baby's breath is shorter now. Wedding Flowers 8

I'm using fake flowers in vases as well, soak them for a few hours to make sure they don't bleed then you're water would be colored. Dollar tree has 2 different vase sizes and I got the other size at quickcandles.com and mirrors on Amazon

Check family owned florist. I thought our prices would be crazy after looking at DIY prices ( 3-4K) and 2 local florists quoted me under my budget (2-3K)! Mind you I wanted some specifics so prices could be even cheaper based on what you want. One of the florists even offered fake flowers for my arbor that could be reused in our home as a keepsake that would've cut cost further.

We’re going with a lot of greenery (ferns, moss like plants, eucalyptus, thistles) and using very little flowers

Lavender with babies breath. You can order the lavender dried from Etsy for a few bucks, and it looks the same as fresh when you mix it with the baby's breath.

We're doing a mix of sola flowers for some of the decor (ceremony backdrop and small decor items), fresh greenery garland for tables (Costco), and real flowers for bouquets and boutonnieres.

I was really worried about this as I always wanted to have amazing, huge arrangements...but you are right, it is crazy expensive. Smiley sad I found this company who actually told me to mix the silk and fresh flowers to create an arrangement. It is definitely less cost and still have some fresh flowers. Maybe you can do something like that? I do not have any image yet, but maybe check their site - Flower Decor They have really pretty things.

Thanks! I will. My flowers would be tropical which would be expensive. My son is flying in from Hawaii so he might be able to bring some depending on when he gets here.

Artificial flowers all the way, I can't stand the scent of flowers and just having a whiff of them makes me sneeze, the last thing you need on your wedding day is snot running down your nose.

I saw today Oh You're Lovely posted a video doing a tropical bouquet with sola flowers! Not sure if you're doing bouquets, but it made me think of this post.
