Wedding Email

Silly question but my wedding is now April 1 2022. I pushed the wedding back a year because of..well...COVID..obviously lol. Me and my husband got married on our original wedding date at a park on April 3, 2021 (Shout out to 4321 brides and April Fools brides). All the original vendors I already had have been dealing with me for a almost....two year's...my wedding is like..6 months away...so like...is there even point to making one now? I want to because my personal email is swamped and I have missed a couple emails and now that it's the tail end I don't want to miss payments or important details.

Yeah I think your right- it feels too late, since you already have communicated with them- maybe there’s some gmail feature where if the email says wedding in it or has your wedding venue name in it it can star it as important and nudge you if you don’t respond. Usually the final payments are due a month before the event, and the caterer might be more payments spaced out 90 days before, 30 days before and 10 days before. So just be on top of your email starting the end of Feb 2022.

I agree with PP that it may be too late. I think if you try to change now, you run a significant risk of having wedding stuff to manage in 2 separate email accounts. I would play around with organizational tools in your email, as PP also suggested. You can have emails from certain people go to a specific Wedding folder instead of just your general inbox. Also, I kept a separate budget spreadsheet that included dates of payments due (they are usually written in the contracts).

Agree with above, definitely don’t make a new email. It’s more likely to become a mess for you and your vendors - and I’m a firm believer that making it simple for vendors (and everyone really!) is the best way to get what you need from them. Implementing a better folder system is a much better option at this point.

I just used my personal email. I created a new email for when I changed my named after we were married and used that new email for our vendors for our celebration this year. It didn't create a problem for anyone at all

I used my personal email and created a label for wedding, and just label every wedding related email that comes in, that way it's still all in one place without having to deal with shuffling everything over to a new email address.
