Wedding dresses for cheaper ($1,000 and under!)

Brooke, on May 18, 2021 at 2:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 36
Hello I’m looking for recommendations on cheaper places to get dresses most bridal salons I’ve seen are $1300+ for a dress and I’m not in love with David’s bridal, any suggestions on online wedding dress shops you’ve used or cheaper bridal salons in/around Cincinnati? (Within 30-45 minutes)

Cocomelody is on the higher end, but the other three are more affordable.

Check PromGirl as well, they have some big designer names

I got mine from Alamour The Label (size up, they run small)

Also look at BHLDN. They have a bunch of dresses under $1000, and while they don't have a store in Cincinnati, you can order from them online and they're still offering virtual appointments. (I have no idea how that works, but I had a great experience with my in-person appointment so I'd definitely recommend them.)

Keep an open mind and check stores that sell formal wear and prom dresses. I bought my dress for $400 at a formal wear store. It is not a big brand name or boutique label but I don't care. I tried it on and fell in love with it. Most prom dresses and evening dresses I have seen are about $300-$700.

A quick Google search turned up Kotsovos Bridal, Furs, & Prom in Cincinnati (who have lots of very good reviews). They have a large number of their prom and evening dresses inventoried online as well if you want to take a peak and see if something catches your eye. As an example, here is a prom dress they sell that would also work as a wedding dress: https://www.kotsovosbridalfursandprom.com/p14332742/sherri-hill-51573.html

Along with what everyone said, I would also still check out local salons. I snagged a perfect condition sample for $800 (originally $1600), and my sister-in-law also got her dress as a sample for $500 (and it was also around $1600 new). Plus you walk out with the dress that day, so you know exactly what you're getting and don't need to worry about production times.

Really? That’s really interesting I didn’t think of that I didn’t know it was that cheap to do a sample dress

David’s Bridal has quite a lot of dresses for decent prices. I ended up buying some expensive gown for 3k at a boutique but wish I could rewind and save money by sticking with David’s Bridal!

Just wondering, have you actually gone into David's Bridal? I shopped around on their site & couldn't pick a single dress I liked but my first dress fell through because the shop had an emergency, so I had to find a dress fast! I ended up making an appointment at David's & saw my dress within minutes just hanging there. I knew I had to try it on. It was the second dress I tried & when trying other dresses, It was all I could think about. I fell instantly in love!

So, just saying.. if you are looking for a good deal, give them an in-person try. Smiley smile

I’ve been in there it’s been a few years though, only reason I’m sketchy about David’s bridal is because as you said there online stuff doesn’t do much for me and I feel like the last time I was there the lace and things looked on the cheaper side, granted that was 4-5 years ago now probably I’ll check it out again

Have you tried buying off rack? That’s what I did at the local bridal store in my city. I ended up buying a Maggie sottero dress for $700 off rack when most of her dress are $1,200+. Otherwise try Lulus! They have beautiful white dresses and a bridal line now.

Another option could be looking for a bridal consignment store. I got a sample dress that was $1,500 for $800 and it was in near perfect condition.
