I'm sort of a bad example of this aha. I went online and bought something I liked and it was one of those kind of things I lucked out on because it was cheap so if it didn't work out it wasn't a loss. But you should definitely try on things to see what you like

For me I was looking for a little of everything and nothing super unoriginal. I love lace but didn't want itchy. I didn't want bigger than an A line and movable for dancing, sitting, etc) So my dress is a 2 finger strap, low v neck (so a little sexy), low v back, lace top half with a bottom half organza skirt (simplistic). Accented my waist and had some beading for shimmer. Not itchy at all and came in pure white (I wanted). Here's a pic for reference Smiley smile thats how I found the perfect dress. Took in my "wants" and fiances "hates" to make sure they were good and then adding variety since I love variety!

I went in to multiple salons by myself because I am a very self conscious person due to my past. I wanted to know what style I felt comfortable in. After I had taken pictures and had my favorites I showed them ( the model pictures, not of me) to FH to see what he liked. Out of about 10 dresses it was narrowed down to about 7. I then took my mother, step-father and FMIL with me to pick out the final dress. I knew by that time the one I absolutely wanted but I wanted to see their thoughts. They all loved my final decision and both mom cried. It was such a great feel and my FH has no clue which one I picked. I wouldn’t have done it any different but I also shopped and looked around for over 6 months before I chose a dress.

If you don’t have a style you’re set on, try a bunch of different silhouettes. You’ll know when it’s the right one. It might be dress #1 or dress #71 but you’ll smile big, get butterflies or even tear up.

You’re so right. I’ve been looking online for different dresses. Trying to skip the trying on process lol.

This too will be another factor to give me anxiety, lol. I have been looking at some boutiques on Instagram and kind of been pulling different aspects of certain dresses to compose my one dress so I've been weighing my options about getting one made so it is exactly what I like.

Yes, it’s a lot to go through finding the perfect dress to wear. Then for me I think about how other people is going to feel about my dress that I’m going to wear . It’s a lot when finding the right dress.

What do you mean when you say...how other ppl are going to feel about your dress? For me I thought about it but then I'm like this is family and friends they already know my personality and my dress style has always been sexy with class. But then I had in the back of my mind hearing his aunt you think you could wear a little more clothing 😒😳. Because i want a low back with some cleavage although im not busty but someone is going to always have something to say but at the end of the day it is our day 🤷

I guess, I could’ve said it different. I like slot of compliments. So, I look for the dress that’s going to get me the most compliments and that I know I’m going to look good in.

My advice, try on all different styles. just bc you think you know what you're looking for doesn't mean you could't fall in love with something different. you'll know what you've found the dress. i can't explain it, but you'll know. you may not have this super emotional moment and that's fine. but you'll feel when it's the right dress. just have fun with it.
