Wedding decorations

Frankie, on September 16, 2021 at 8:59 PM Posted in Style and Décor 3 19

Hello. I really love the burgundy, white and gold theme, but I cannot find any good examples of how I want my decorations. I have searched and searched and everything is either too much gold or a red color. I really wanted a darker room uplighting rather than gold. Most decorators just want examples but cannot give me samples of how things would look. I would hate to pay for something and they cannot provide anything but a "this is the look you were going for with the pictures you have sent" Has anyone used these colors before?

Is this along the lines of what you are thinking for burgundy, white and gold?

As far as uplighting, you will be pretty limited on colors that will go with this color scheme. A warm amber uplight would look best with your color scheme. This is an example of amber lighting…Wedding decorations 2

If you find amber lighting adds too much gold, you could either strictly limit the amount of gold used in your decor or eliminate it altogether and let the amber lighting be the “gold” in your color scheme. On a positive note, most people really want amber lighting at their weddings because it is very flattering and makes your skin look flawless! Its great for photos!

I am also going for the burgundy, white, gold and I am also adding black… can’t find anything that inspires me or something close enough to my taste, the only good part of it is that I am the one that will be placing the stuff before the wedding.. but still, going crazy trying to do something I love..

Maybe burgundy tablecloths. That will instantly make any room look darker.

The second photo was just an example of amber lighting. If you are wanting a darker aesthetic, maybe use dark gray or even black tablecloths. Have you looked at images of “moody weddings”? They tend to have a darker aesthetic that you may enjoy

Oh, so not really a burgundy.. you are going for more of a deep red. In that case, you could always do red up lighting!

My bridesmaids will be in burgundy so there will be touches of burgundy in the bouquets (that well have at the sweetheart table). For centerpieces, we skipped flowers and opted for these instead. Our florist said she can give us white rose petals to lay around the candles as a settle touch: https://ehomemart.com/products/5-arm-27-crystal-gold-metal-horizontal-table-standing-candelabra-candle-holder-set
our reception room is white with a touch of black in the flooring.

I am searching burgundy and gold reception decor or maroon and gold. I even went as far as looking at quincenera. I think I’m going to go a fabric store and get some similar color fabrics and make small mock-up tables because I have no imagination what so ever.

Here's some different inspiration I found. Obviously not all the photos have the uplighting you're going for, but they give you ideas of different directions you can take with your centerpieces and decor. I would go with a darker tablecloth, as others have suggested. The decor you choose kind of depends on a lot of different factors. What venue are you using? What's your budget? Are you hiring someone to decorate, do diy-ing most of it? Etc. I hope these can give you some ideas that are helpful!

I’m seeing a lot of reflective properties in your examples. In your first picture it appears the table has a reflective surface on top of a burgundy red table cloth. There are lots of glasses and clear vases. In your second example there are candelabra’s that either are crystal or silver and it appears to be cranberry colored glass votives with white candles. Or maybe it’s floating candles in red dye water? I love your color scheme ideas. I think everyone’s examples are all very beautiful.

I’m not sure how big your Wedding is or your budget but here is a glass example that you could collect for your wedding. If you mixed some of these cape cod Ruby glasses with gold accents it would look amazing.

Girl I have the EXACT same problem. I don’t feel like giving my money to people who don’t know what they’re doing. People who copy off a picture do not know what they’re doing. This is exactly what I was telling my fiancé today. I think you’re right, there’s either too much burgundy or too much ivory and not enough in between.
