Weather Forecast

Amber, on February 12, 2020 at 10:12 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

Did anyone else obsessively check the weather forecast before their wedding day? We're 11 days out and I check every single day. As of right now, the temperature is right where I want it to be with a 20% chance of rain in the AM (ceremony isn't until 3, so no biggie there). Someone please tell me I'm crazy for feeling comforted by that, I know that a forecast 11 days out can't possibly be that accurate lol

We have a backup plan for rain/cold weather, but I'm really hoping for weather like the forecast predicts now. Don't want to get my hopes up too much, but also have zero self control to NOT check the forecast Smiley ups

My wedding isn't until July, but I know I'll probably be doing the same thing, lol! We also have a backup, but I really want the ceremony to be outside, so I'm hoping and praying it won't rain!

I know all we can do is hope for the best, but that doesn't keep us from stressing over it Smiley xd

Same here! Accuweather.com even has this insane "90-day forecast" which I know can't be reliable at all, but that hasn't kept me from checking it for the past three months lol.

It makes sense to check the weather. I knew mine would be sunny but I still checked to see how sunny ahaha

Not to brag, but I'm even crazier than you! I checked the weather patterns for the week of our wedding going back 5 years, then made a complicated spreadsheet with algorithms and charts, and calculated what I thought the weather might be like within 5 degrees on the day of our wedding.

Accuweather goes forward 15 days so I started checking the weather on February 1st and entered all the predictions into a spreadsheet and have religiously updated it every day to see which predictions were right and which weren't, and to add any changes to future dates.

We got SNOW yesterday, which WAS predicted, and again this morning, which was NOT predicted. So yikes! At the beginning of the month, it was slated to be partly cloudy with a high of 51. As of today, it will be sunny with a high of 54. And go figure, the day after the wedding it's predicted to be 60!! I would KILL for 60! Smiley xd C'est la vie. It's the curse of February.

You are not alone in the madness of becoming a meteorologist. Our local forecasters should pay me money at this point. Smiley xd

Luckily it didn’t rain at my ceremony but it was 8 degrees colder than predicted which was disappointing

The night before our wedding we checked the forecast and it said 60% of rain all morning and afternoon. We didn’t see a drop of rain until 4:30pm when our reception was almost over 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ They never know hahaha. You can check it all you want but even the night before it could STILL be wrong. Hope for the best but brace yourself to be ok for the first

I'm the same way! We're not within the time frame where the weather can really be predicted (17 days out), but I'm still checking the predicted weather!

I wouldn't check hahahaha it's not worth it! We got married outside of Denver last July and the weather report for the Friday/Saturday of our wedding weekend changes DAILY. Rain was a possibility but not huge so we didn't plan or expect it. Day of the wedding: RAIN. ALL THE MF RAIN YOU CAN IMAGINE. THUNDER. LIGHTNING. HAIL. Everything. So I'd just prepare for the worst & hope for the best. Upside, we got a rainbow after the storm!

Girl, yes! I was stressing out so much the week leading up to my wedding last October because the forecast was showing heavy rain and temps in the 50s. we were just trying to accept the fact that the weather would be bad! HOWEVER, on the morning of our wedding day, the sun came out and we had the most beautiful 75-degree day. sometimes, clearly the forecast isn't even accurate 24 hours out. here's hoping you have beautiful weather too!

Yes! My wedding isn't until November, but I have obsessively looked at the Farmer's Almanac and weather history for our day. If history is accurate it should be 52 degrees and mostly sunny on our day! However, we got a major snow storm in October last year only for it to get back up into the 60s in December. So I'll be in the same boat looking everyday I can leading up to the wedding.

I checked it every sing day for 15 days out Smiley laugh ! Our entire day was planned for outside and we had an October wedding. In North Carolina, our weather is famous for surprises, so I was checking the weather like a crazy person!

I didn't really check that much. just the 3 days before. the day of was beautiful and sunny so i agreed to keep the ceremony outside and two hours later (after it was all set up) it became over cast and windy. soooo it was pointless for me to even check lol

I will be doing that next year but I will be paying attention to the weather this year to see if it's the same as last year because my wedding is outside
