We booked our September 2020 Honeymoon!

I have also had to postpone my wedding twice and am also a September bride! We are going to Aruba!

It's awesome that travel companies have still been keeping liberal cancellation policies in place - it actually makes it possible to plan a little!

We also had to postpone our April wedding to September! We are going on our honeymoon to Akumal, Mexico..can’t wait!

That's awesome! Akumal is only a 23 minute drive from Tulum. We are actually going there to swim with sea turtles. Did you know that was popular in Akumal?

We are also planning on going to cenotes, Coba ruins, Tulum ruins, and the beautiful lagoons. If you haven't looked into any of these yet- I highly recommend checking them out. It looks like a dream!

Other than the things you mentioned, what else do y’all have planned?

Where did you purchase through that let your whole trip be refundable? We are still deciding if its safe or not to honeymoon in November. We really want to do an all inclusive in the Caribbean somewhere...but im so scared of a second wave and everything shutting down again.

We have never been but have had some friends that have gone. We were planning on also doing a private tour with Edventures where we get to zip line in the jungle and ride ATVs while checking out the lagoons and cenotes. We are also wanting to do a day trip to Chichen Itza and the town Vallodolid. What are you guys planning on doing?

View Quoted Comment We booked everything directly to make sure we had direct contact with the hotel and airlines. I highly recommend booking directly because it gets rid of the middle man. We postponed our big honeymoon to Greece in May and it was a pain to reschedule (we booked via tripmasters for that trip)


For our flight this time we booked Delta. They are currently doing free changes/cancellantions for flights before 9/30 or for any flight booked before 7/31. However, I think they will extend those dates soon. I recommend waiting closer to your date to book airfare because most airlines have a similar policy.
We booked Mi Amor for our resort and they only required a $50 deposit. The rest was due during check in. So if we decide to cancel we would only lose the $50.

I’ve been dealing with all these changes with our wedding ceremony and reception that I haven’t even made time for our honeymoon lol.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Thank you for sharing this! I have a serious LOVE, almost as much love as I do for my kids and FH for sea turtles! I have been trying SO hard to find a spot that has sea turtles we can see live and in person. I am 1000% going to be begging the FH (ok, not begging) to go here for our honeymoon! I could honestly die a happy woman if I was able to see a sea turtle on my honeymoon!.

I totally get that! Luckily I'm obsessed with travel and planning, because my FH hates planning. So I'm always our travel agent so to speak.
