Warm Honeymoon Destinations for November

caitlin, on August 23, 2016 at 1:13 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 22

My fiance and I are getting married in November 2017. We really want to go somewhere tropical for our honeymoon without breaking the bank... i'd like to keep in under $3,000 each with airfare.

I know the Caribbean can still be a little risky since it's the rainy season, plus we both have been there so i'd like to try somewhere else. Hawaii and French Polynesia just seem so far out of our price range... any ideas of resorts that are not super expensive? We are really looking to relax and unwind rather than site see or do adventurous stuff everyday.

We went to Aruba and loved it. We also wanted to be able to just relax and not feel like we had to be sight-seeing every single day, but we did want to see some of the island while we were there. Aruba was perfect for that I thought...it's so small that there wasn't an overwhelming amount of "must-sees" so we got in plenty of relaxation and a little exploring. The beaches are incredible though and I could have spent the entire time just laying around there with no regrets.

    Groupon Getaways.

Or a travel agent can help. We're going to Hawaii and airfare was almost 2k so I can't really help you there lol.

That's understandable, we wanted our HM destination to be a first for us both as well. A good place to start might just be to google "top honeymoon destinations" and read some articles there. How about any of the Virgin Islands? Costa Rica? Dominican?

Try a Caribbean island you havent been too. They are all so different. I really loved St. Martin/St. Maarten. Belize or Costa Rica are both good choices too (Just be careful in Belize city).

There are a bunch of really nice resorts in Key West. Instead of flying directly to Key West (small airport) you can fly into Miami and drive down. It's about a 3hr drive but it's scenic and relatively enjoyable. The Key West hotels can be pricey but the food and drinks on Duval Street (the main bar/restaurant area) are not expensive at all. So, most of your money will be spent on the stay and you can still have a very good time on the cheap.

Maybe St. John's? We are doing a cruise that stops at a lot of the Southern islands in the Caribbean - can't wait!

Zika will most likely be everywhere. So I would suggest pick a location of where you want to go and plan for kids 6 months to a year after the trip.

We actually postponed our honeymoon so that we can go where we really want to, Ireland. Its really not that big of a deal to us. But, that being said, I think Mexico is your best bet. Maybe a different part then you've already been to?

I am getting married November 2016. I booked our honeymoon today to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I grew up going to Mexico and if you have never ventured outside of Cancun (or Mexi-America as I call it) you absolutely should check it out. I book wonderful flights with short layovers and a authentic 'hacienda' style hotel with 28 luxury rooms for a week. It cost me just over $1000. The boutique hotels are wonderful and you can walk to the beach, any kind of food you can imagine, nightlife, etc. I used Orbitz for the package deals,

We chose Hawaii in November because I got the flights cheap but our runner up was Costa Rica! Flights are very reasonable from what I saw.

    Good luck!

Hi Caitlyn - I've been to the Caribbean many times in November and love it! It is actually a great time to go so it really depends upon where you are coming from but packages can be had with air for a very good price. Avoid the West Coast of Mexico and Drugs and Violence are making their way North and it is pretty built up. Hawaii can be pricy but if you are on the west coast, you can get a great deal on air and I can find you just the right property...but they don't have all-inclusives so food can be costly. I would definitely look at the Yucatan or the Caribbean and lean toward the Caribbean myself.

Each island in the Caribbean has different activities so it depends on what you like to do so you can get the best match for your vacation.
