Vow Renewal Venue Ideas/suggestions

Star, on January 5, 2021 at 9:25 PM Posted in Planning 1 10
So my husband is officially and finally ON board with the vow renewal idea 🙌🏼🥳🥰
We’re talking about it being on our 5th anniversary on Oct 12th, 2024.
Ideas I’ve thought of (if we’re financially able to and able to save up enough in time to book accordingly) isSmiley sadListed in order from most wanted being #1 and the last (#2) being the least favorite)
#1 Sandals Resort in Emerald Bay, Bahamas -have a vacation at the same time-be at a beach together-which we’ve never done before as a couple -rather expensive, however, it’s all inclusive and ceremony is free
OR
#2 Have it all at our own home -would be MUCH less expensive than the first option -wouldn’t be a vacation —or as much of a vacation -would have potential for distractions (we live by a relatively busy highway and close-ish neighbors)-would have to clean up/decor/set up/tear down etc by ourselves

Are you having an intimate vow renewal or inviting people? We are planning our renewal on our 25th anniversary in August 2022. We decided on intimate, so our 2 adult kids (plus one son’s gf) and 1 minor son. I always wanted a wedding on a beautiful tropical beach, and honeymoon right after, so Hawaii it is. However, Hawaii turns out to be expensive after I made a list of every cost. I probably should choose a cheaper destination, yet still beautiful. There are plenty of cheaper destinations wedding you can choose from. We already booked stuff so we can’t really back out now.

We’re having our honeymoon at Sandals Ochi in Jamaica. I scored a 7 night, 1 bedroom honeymoon suite villa with a butler for $3150! Keep pricing it- even when you book it, still keep pricing it. When I 1st booked it, my final price was $5107- when I went back a few months later to make a payment, I checked prices again & it was listed @ $3949! With the sale they had going on plus a first responder discount, it was knocked down to $3150. They made the adjustment but you have to ask for it. HANDS DOWN- GO FOR THE BEACH!!

If it is only the two of you, then go for the resort. That sounds so wonderful!

That's a good chunk of time to put towards the vacation/vow renewal. I would go that route- even when it's expensive, vacations are so important and definitely a good way to reconnect with one another.

American beach towns may also be a more affordable option and a vacation without the need for a passport if you're US based.

Thank you ladies for your advice! Also wanted to say congrats on your weddings, honeymoon, & anniversaries!! 🥂 (even if they’re coming up/haven’t happened yet). That’s awesome and such a reason to be happy/party)
I have some somewhat bittersweet news:
We won’t be going to sandals 😞 Definitely not any time soon 😭 However we ARE still having an AC (anniversary celebration. We’re calling it this since we’re aren’t necessarily doing a vow renewal, since in our opinion not only do your vows never expire but also our vows/ceremony were really the only part/s that went perfectly for our wedding day) it would be fun I think to walk down the aisle again 😆 but maybe we’ll do something like that later/for anniversary party with others invited etc. I just know that we both wanted something like this that we have planned for our 5th anniversary in 2024 and that we also wanted it to be intimate or as intimate as it possibly could be. (How we wanted our wedding day to be) I also wanted more footage of just us that we didn’t get on our wedding day. So we will have it (as of now it’s planned) @ a local barn also near a river all a top a hill. Interior and exterior are GORGEOUS and I’m more than thrilled. 🙌🏼😍🥰 so excited to do this. Especially how we wanted to do and have it be about us. Which is what a wedding day should be. Especially when you pay so much money and give a shots list to your photographer especially and they don’t follow the list at all/don’t take but maybe one shot you had always wanted out of others on the list. 😭 We have another chance to get what we’ve dreamed of. 🤍🙌🏼Hope everyone has a great weekend and once I get the footage back I’ll be sure to share it on here! 🤍PS we may actually go to a beach town (like someone mentioned on here) some time that way we get our beach vacay together and also save money instead of going to sandals. It’s still be nice to go to sandals one day. It just is rather expensive. Especially at this time. But happy spring to all and enjoy the beautiful weather ☀️
