I'm from south central Iowa, so not a huge selection of places and price ranges, but FH and I have decided on Honey Hill in Osceola, Iowa. Owner has been a dream so far and the place is SO affordable. Check them out on Facebook if anyone else is in the area. About half an hour south of DSM.
(On a side note, while I was researching venues I noticed a lot of beautiful venues around Dubuque and Okoboji. Y'all are lucky!)

We are looking at various venues right now to compare costs, however we are going to tour the scottish rite temple in des moines this week. super excited!!!
