Venues, Venues, Venues!

Nicole, on January 13, 2020 at 6:02 PM Posted in Planning 2 74

While some of us have all the details in mind right when we get engaged, we truly can't start all the planning until we have a venue! Let's see those venues that you all have chosen! What made you decide on your location? Are your ceremony and reception in the same place? Are you having a destination wedding? So many options!

My FH and I are getting married at The Heritage Museum of Orange County in California. It's a beautiful mansion built in 1890 by Hiram Clay Kellogg for his family. It's situated on 12 acres with jacaranda trees and an orange grove, a rose garden, and even a freshwater marsh! It ended up being a perfect fit for us budget and location wise as it's only about 20 minutes from the majority of our guests!

That sounds lovely! And what a bonus that it's family owned! That will make for even more fantastic memories!

This is so so so gorgeous. I've always loved mansion weddings, they are so elegant and romantic! Smiley heart Your venue looks like a dream come true, someone call Martha Stewart.

My venue sounds like a party atmosphere, but in reality, it's very sentimental to FH and I. It's going to be at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort. They have a Lawn to do the ceremony on, and then our reception is also on location in a private dining room for just us, overlooking the gorgeous resort style pool. They have a butterfly garden to take pictures at, as well as our own suite onsite for our honeymoon and hotel block for our guests. If you can't tell, I'm in love with it.

We are getting married at Naper Settlement. It’s an outdoor museum that has this adorable little chapel they rent out just for weddings. The first photo is the inside of the chapel. The second and third are photos of our reception hall called Mesón Sabika. It’s a Spanish tapas restaurant that has been doing weddings for years and then they built this beautiful building called the Pavilion. I’ve always wanted Naper Settlement to be an venue option because of the cool history, unique venue and I grew up around this area. My FH loves the uniqueness of the venues as well and that they’ll be so close, within 5 minutes of each other.

Those beams inside the church are breathtaking! Absolutely gorgeous! I'm with you and really love historical locations. And only 5 minutes from your reception venue? Amazing!

Nothing set in stone but I found a country club right near our house and a very cheap price and there is an arch there that I can DIY decorate. Fairly private which is great for the FH.

Just wanted to tell you daughter was a BM for a wedding (one of her closest friends, and one of her BMs) at your venue. It was a lovely wedding (also in July), and the pro photos were wonderful. They did "first touch" photos at the bottom of the spiral staircase in the house and their "first look" under the Jacaranda trees, which were in full bloom in July. Such a pretty location!

Daughter's wedding and reception were at the Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club. She wanted an outdoor ceremony and reception (mostly outdoor, on a covered, temperature controlled patio), but any venue she considered had to have an excellent bad weather Plan B. CdC delivered everything she wanted, so it wasn't a hard decision for her. The event coordinators were amazing and overall, they had their perfect wedding, so it was ideal! Smiley heart

We've actually had to cancel our wedding due to an unfortunate issue. It was originally going to be at the Richard Nixon Library in Orange County but now we're currently looking at Mansion 54 in Las Vegas to do an elopement with close friends and family.

That’s so great. My fiancé and I were going to tour there. They ended up already having ours date booked and weren’t as ADA friendly as we would have liked. We have a few family members and friends in wheelchairs or with walkers so having it be a place they could get around was the final deciding factor for us.

We’re getting married at Heritage Hotel in Southbury, CT. This is a picture of their Timbers room where our reception will take place. Our ceremony will also be held on site. About 90% of our guest list is 2+ hours away so we wanted a venue where we could have everything in the same place.

I love that! We're planning on a first touch at the staircase too, but no first look. And Coto is beautiful!!! I used to horse show there when I was a kid and always loved looking at the pretty grounds. I'm so happy to hear it was everything she imagined!

I just looked up Mansion 54...those stairs are incredible! The Richard Nixon Library is definitely pretty (it was on my long list originally before we got the numbers...haha) but Mansion 54 is stunning. I hope it's just right for you with your friends and family!

Man, that's too bad. All the different terrain types definitely make it harder for walkers and wheelchairs. Have you already decided on your venue or are you still touring?

Wow, those lights and the draping are beautiful! Are they included in the venue? You definitely had the right idea to have it all in one place since people are traveling. I bet it's going to be amazing!

That fireplace is glorious! And the trees! I really loved North Carolina when I visited in college...it was so lush and green (much different than Southern California!). Such a pretty venue!
