Venue vs Backyard field

Katie, on July 25, 2019 at 5:38 AM Posted in Maine Planning 0 2
Hello,
I am newly engaged and now starting to look at options for a fall wedding in Maine. I absolutely love fall because it’s not too buggy and it’s not too hot! I am looking to have a very in expensive wedding. I have access to a beautiful field for free but as I am researching prices for everything I am not sure this is going to be the less expensive route. I have been looking for venues around Maine too. I was hoping to someone would have some advice ? Venue vs backyard field? Any suggestions for an in expensive venue in Maine is definitely welcome !

Congratulations on your engagement Katie! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

A fall wedding sounds so beautiful and you will be able to have such beautiful fall-inspired decor if you wanted! Have you thought about your wedding colors yet?

It’s important to remember that hiring an event tent for a field sounds ideal, but it can cost a lot in rentals as you will have to rent absolutely everything, from a dancefloor to bathrooms! It’s definitely worth looking into if it is your dream, but may not be the inexpensive wedding that you were hoping for.

You can definitely look into some venues and then make your decision! Have you checked out the WeddingWire venue search tool? Here are the Maine Wedding Venues that we have listed. You can filter this search for the style of venue you would like, indoor/outdoor setting, guest capacity and amenities so you will be able to find exactly what you are looking for!

If you are hiring a venue, are you still interested in an outdoor wedding?

I had initially considered going with a backyard wedding thinking it would save us money, but after contacting rental companies, catering (all have a minimum food cost could be anywhere from 5k-10k), etc it would have cost me as much or more as an all inclusive venue and added a lot more stress. If you don’t have a specific type of venue in mind, golf course in Maine seem to be really reasonably priced and beautiful. We wanted a barn so ended up unfortunately paying the hefty fee to get it. Our wedding is in 32 days!!! Congratulations and good luck!!!
