Yes there are definitely questions that you should prepare.

    Some good questions could be:

-can any other weddings be booked for the same day?

-are there any restrictions for the photographer (flash)?

-is there liability insurance that would protect us if something happened to the business?

-what packages do you offer and are linens included?

-what forms of payment do you accept and what is the timeline for when payments are due?

Those are just some. There's plenty more you can find if you search online.

I use the off beat bride checklist, which can be downloaded for free.

That covers all your bases and you can fill in which things cost additional money and the amount.

    Don't forget to ask:

    - What is included with the rental price? What is an additional cost?

    - are there any other weddings that day? How many others? If so how does the turnaround work?

    - how soon can I get into the space

    - how many hours do you rent the space for. Do those include my set up and breakdown? Who handles set up/breakdown? How much money is it per hour if I would like to add more hours on?

    - do you charge a cake cutting fee?

Also look at the bathrooms. Make sure there are plenty and you have enough space in there for you and a wedding dress

Common questions asked to us during open house:

-What does the venue feel include

-What is backup ceremony site for rain (we have three venues and each have an outdoor ceremony space)

    -Price per person

    -What decor is included

-Can I use any vendor (we have a preferred vendor list....but couples can use anyone they want.)

-What is the insurance for an outside vendor

-What is the deposit and when would next money be due

-Do you have tastings prior to picking the reception food

    -Is there a rehearsal included

-Who puts out our decorations and packs them up at end of event

    -cake cutting fee

    -Parking

-Is there a bridal suite and if so when are you able to access the suite

    Sure there are more.......

Ask about how many hours you can have the venue.

Do they provide tables and chairs?

    Dance floor?

    Sound System?

Do they provide food or do you need your own caterer?

Can you decorate the day before the event?

    Deposit?

What kind of permits do you need to serve alcohol?

Do you have to provide your own security?

What kind of decorations can you use? What are the restrictions?

Do you need a stage for a band or an area for the DJ?

Is there a separate dressing are for the wedding party? Bathrooms?
