Venue help!!!

Samantha, on June 15, 2020 at 9:54 PM Posted in Maryland Planning 0 10
Hi ladies and men! My fiancé and I are looking to get married/ having our reception in a barn or outside of a cabin big enough to host the wedding if it rains. I have tried everything even air b&b and people are trying to rob me left at right. They’ll have a $200 a night plus cleaning fee etc (which ends up becoming $945) rental and then want a fee of $2,000 and when I’ve asked what the $2,000 is for they say “that’s just what we ask for”. Which is infuriating because they’re clearly just praying on brides😡 so anyways my wedding is only 46 guest and we can bring our own tables, chairs, music, and photographer. I’m looking to pay max $1,000 can anyone help?

You might want to look for restaurants that would be willing to rent out or host a patio or private rooms

Hi! What state are you in?

It would help us a lot if we know what region you are looking in, because prices vary widely.

Though, as Melle said, with something that size, it's always best to start with restaurants. Try the "vendors" tab, above.

I was originally looking for something like this (barn/cabin for a whole weekend) in the GA/TN region and the cheapest I found was around $3000. Most Airbnb will charge a venue fee to host any event or wedding, unfortunately this is a business that they are used to, so it’s unlikely they will have the affordable pricing you are looking for.

That’s interesting, we found a bungalow on a river through Airbnb, which came out to a little over $900 for everything (cleaning fees, etc.). However it sleeps enough for us to stay and our immediate families. We found another Airbnb that would have cost $3-4K that would have slept all of our guests so that’s the trade off.

Barn weddings are super "in" right now so any venue with a barn is expensive. We looked at some that started at $10,000. As far as Airbnb a lot of them need special insurance to cover events so they will charge more also. You can maybe try a park with a gazebo or rent out a patio like Melle said. Good luck!

I would Google search the heck out it. Finding a venue using this app is only going to give you expensive venues. Try to find places that are not just for weddings. Places that only do weddings are very expensive. We found a golf course that does weddings on the side and paid $900 for the whole facility for Friday-sunday.

I second this I sent our email to the restaurants in our area that had patios or lofts and some just wanted to make sure of the headcount and would reserve the space for us, they didn't even ask us for a food minimum.
